Hi, Sean for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. How to charge or replace battery on a 2009 Suzuki S40 Boulevard?

the battery can be charged whilst still in the bike ,2or 3rd gear as a push start is best ,you can use a jumpstart cable from a larger battery but this can cause problems with other electrical parts so proceed with caution ,but you can do it with a car battery without the motor running and do not over crank the engine to start it if it wont start after a few turns as it would normanly start stop cranking let the starter cool down then try again .hope this helps

1 Answer

Charging the battery

Turn off ignition. Disconnect battery terminal leads, ensure fluid levels are ok, connect charger leads. It is best if you remove battery so you can give it a clean and save your bike if something is amiss somewhere and it erupts or leaks when charging. Try the sites below for manuals or go to Wiki Q & A under S40 Boulevard, then wade thru' for links.
Cheers.
