My carburetor leaks fuel from the throttle body

Hi you need to check the float height in the carb[s] also while stripped down check the float valve and its seat. The seat must be clean and have no debris on it. The float valve must be clean and show no damage. The slightest scratch, split or dink to the float valve will prevent it working properly. All manufacturers show a float height dimension in their service manuals.

Problem with starting my bike

Sticking floats or worn float valve needles or incorrect float height, tap float bowls to see it overflow stops (sticky float), remove and clean float bowls and fuel inlet passage with carb cleaner and compressed air, check float valve for wear to the rubber tip. Reset float height by slightly bending the metal tab on the float to adjust the closing height of the valve measure from the carb bowl mating surface to the top of the float when fitted then re adjust 1mm at a time higher untill fuel doesnt over flow.

1980 Yamaha xt250 won't idle without the choke being on

Hi, Earthquakeau and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Vacuum line from the petcock to intake manifold cracked.
5. Float needle and seat sticking.
6. Float level too low.
7. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
8. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
10. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
11. Slow fuel jet clogged.
12. Faulty fuel pump.

Cleaning carbs on Suzuki GS650 L, what is the float setting?

to check the float height, invert the carb body holding the float arm pin so the pin will not slip off. With the float arm kept free, measure the height it should be 22.4 + or - 1.0mm
This is what the shop manual says.
basically what that means turn the float bowl upside down and keep the bottom of the float even with the edge of the bowl.

White smoke from exhaust

Hi,
Your float levels should be 15.5 mm for the 83. This measurement is from the bottom of the carb base to the bottom of the float with the needle gently resting in the seat. I have found that tilting the carb assembly until the needles lightly seat works the best.
When adjusting the level height with the assembly completely inverted, there tends to be too much pressure from the weight of the float onto the needle resulting in an inaccurate measurement.
If you need any more help, let me know.
