Anything over 70 psi will be just fine to make it run. But there can be a few difrint things that you should look at as well. pushrod adjustment is the first thing i would check, if compression is low.

Where's it leaking from?

One common spot is the oil seal that's behind the transmission rear drive pulley/sprocket.

What should the compression level be for a 1998 toyota camry?

compression should be about 150-180 psi with maximum deviation of about 20 psi between all cylinders. A compression test is not a very reliable way to test for headgasket leaks. It should be tested for headgasket leaks by using a chemical test caled a block test or checked with a device that can check for hydrocarbons in the coolant.

What is my compression supposed to be for a v6

ALL CYLINDER MUST BE WITHIN 5% OF THE HIGHEST READING, THE COMPRESSION SHOULD BE AROUND 165-170 PSI, SO IF THE HIGHEST CYLINDER IS 165 PSI THEN ANY CYLIMNDER THAT IS 5% LOWER THAN THAT READING HAS A PROBLEM.

Compression test

minimum 125 psi (time for a top end then) ... proper pressure after 5 kicks should be in the 175-190 psi range on fresh top end for that bike.make sure to either push the kill button or ground the plug to the engine while kicking it over, or you could damage your CDI unit.

Compresshion specs

Compression tests are almost always done in psi, not ft-lbs - if you get the gauge from a parts store, it's likely in psi.
