Hi, Eric I would really love to help you but due to the magnitude of yesterday's solar flare the batteries in my crystal ball are dead and my mental telepathy headset circuitry was melted. I need the year, make, and model of your motorcycle please click on the word "COMMENT" below and provide this information in the box that will open and then click on the green comment box in the bottom right-hand corner after it posts I will receive an "ALERT" icon that will allow me to respond to your information.

How to replace a kill switch on a husky 288 xp

There should be only 1 screw and one wire connecting the kill switch. The kill switch simply grounds out the ignition. So it is difficult to install improperly. The wire coming from the switch goes directly to the ignition module.

Kill switch wiring

depends... most 4 strokes use a single wire from coil to ground kill system. I.E. wire goes to the kill switch ( key ) then over to ground ( safety switches come into play when dealing with riders, ztr's and big mowers. hand held equipment like weed eaters can either ground at the kill switch or go back to the block for grounding.

How do you wire in a kill switch

just eliminate and cut off the wire to the existing kill switch the put any kill switch you want on it and take the main electrical lead to the ignition or what ever it is and put the new kill switch in the middle of the new kill switch you installed I did it before it always works just make sure to eliminate the old kill switch and its connections are no longer needed

It is a short in the kill switch, or the wire running to the kill switch. check insulation on the wire running to the kill switch and check the routing of the wire to insure that it is not being rubbed by moving parts, or the insulation melted by hot engine parts such as the exhaust system. Finally check that the kill switch itself is functioning properly with a test light or OHM Meter.

My gilera runner has nt got a spark i have changed the magneto flywheel spark plug but still no spark what could it be?

Check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it. Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Try a jump start from your car battery. Is the handlebar kill switch on? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.
