On the front, 35-40 ft lbs, be sure to use a blue lock tight or lock washer. On the rear, tighten the rear axle nut snug to where the cotter pin can easily go through the axle and slots on the nut.

Usually brake squealing is caused by a contaminant getting on the rotor and the pads. This includes almost any chemical other than water. Most of the time the culprit is spray wax that is used on the bike with the overspray getting on the rotors. That tire gloss stuff will do it as well. Once the brakes are applied and the contaminate gets into the brake pads, about the only way to eliminate it is by replacing the pads. Make sure you clean the rotors with brake parts cleaner and it wouldn't hurt if you can rough the surface of the rotor a bit as well.
