Mcculloch strimmer/brush cutter - cuts out when throttle opened

Shear pin (connects the blade to the shaft ) is broken.

Agnes take of the cutting head again and see if it runs at full speed without it. If it does you have either put the head on too tight or it's the wrong head.

Carburetor needs replacement. Possibly primer bulb assembly as well.

remove the muffler and run it the mufflers plug up and restrick the exhaust some mufflers you can open and clean the screen

http://www.mccullochpower.com/node7877.aspx and entered MT325CLS as the model number No such number. There is a different model number / product code that may start with 957 on the data plate / label.

I also checked Australia and UK without any success.

I tried trimmers and brush cutters for both regions and the US McCulloch site. If you have a better model number (Product code) I will look again.

If its the same as mine, you need to take off the air filter cover (two allen keys) and then you will probably see that the throttle cable has come out of its fixing on the carb. Hook back in and away you go!

mcculloch virginia mh542 hedge trimmer, fires 1st time, will only tick over roughly on full choke only then stalls when throttle applied, I have fitted new plug'cleaned air filter and new fuel mix but no change.

If you have correctly diagnosed the problem as no spark, you will need to replace the ignition module. Unfortunately McCulloch dealers and McCulloch parts are very hard to find these days. If yoou do not have a dealer in yoour are who has the part you need, contact southern supply company at 205-833-2525 or email them at [email protected] and I feel sure Jason or someone there can help you.

the throttle stop had worked loose and would drift from low to high while running. Reset and tightened.
