Suzuki intruders are shaft drive only unless someone has engineered a major conversion to belt drive
when refitting the rear wheel something has gone wrong and it may be binding on something and causing the noise remove rear wheel and check for points of contact if none shaft drive ,gearbox and clutch need to be investigated

How do I change my gear shaft on suzuki intruder 96 VS800GL

Hi, Bama for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Bearing noise in rear of motor when idling and in gear 98 Suzuki 1500 intruder

Most likely it' s the clutch. Does it change when you engage and disengage the clutch? If so it is normal to hear a little bearing type noise from the clutch area when idling on wet clutch systems.

Location of oil filter for 1998 suzuki 1500 intruder

Look at the front of the motor behind the front wheel. You should find it there. When you install a new one, put oil in it first and let it soak into the filter, then install. Replace the drain plug crush washer too. Every time you change the oil. Chaz Moto DC
