Vespa et4 125 fuel starvation? Cuts out on me... Help?

Vespa et4 125 fuel starvation? Not enough fuel getting into carb... Carb drains off fuel just fine... Engine turns over and idles but when you demand higher revs and open up, bike starts cutting out and dying... Engine cuts out. Have cleaned the carb and checked the fuel lines, have also taken fuel tap out and checked the filters - clean. Air filter also clean. Pretty sure i have identifed it as fuel starvation. Anything else I'm missing out on? Oh and I've replaced the existing spark plug with a new one. Any help appreciated. Thank you and have a good day!

Check the main jet is set up correctly. Make sure there is plenty of fuel in the float chamber, if not check the fuel line again. There should be a good amount of petrol flowing from the carb feed pipe with the fuel tap on. It should fill a pint container fairly quickly.

Fuel starvation: Plugged filter or needle valve in the carb. The fuel is not getting to the carb fast enough to keep the float bowl filled.

52cc land master petrol strimmer. Will only throttle with choke on full. With choke fully on it works at full power, without it cuts out. Please help. dave

Obviously fuel starvation, start by replacing the fuel filter in the fuel tank on the end of the fuel hose, check the fuel lines from the tank up to the carb for signs of leaks, cracks or damage, replace if required, there is a filter in the carb itself, so the next thing is to remove and clean the carb.

Mazda 626 92 v6- engine sputters when revved over 4000rpm and cuts out completly for about 2 seconds when you turn left a bit too fast

Sounds like fuel starvation. You don't say if it is carb or injectors, but sounds like carb. Check the fuel filter, the float level and needle and seat and the main jets for partial blockage. Yu can also check the fuel pump delivery and pressure and the vapour separator.

Bike seems to be suffering fuel starvation. Idles ok but cuts out when trying to rev engine. What are likely causes (diaphragm carb)

Yes fuel flow, choke on, dirty air cleaner, bad spark plug, bad coil, although they normally fail completely, plug wire sparking to chassis, timing not advancing (low power), sticky valves.
That is all I can think of right now.

If it revs and then cuts out=flow if it does not tack up(under load) at all carb is . Check for stopped up high speed jets.

String trimmer won't start. How do I flush the

To flush system
Drain tank, use primer bulb to push out fuel in the lines, refill, use primer to bring in fresh fuel. You may need to pull the rope a few times with the choke on, and then push the primer several times again. Sometimes you may need to put a few drops of fuel into the throat of the carburetor to help it start to fire.
If the problem is severe enough, you may need to remove the carb to disassemble and clean. I have listed a few things to check.

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

Vespa et4 125 cuts out after starting and riding for a few yards

before buying a new HT coil (as these are generally bullet proof on an et), remove the inspection panel and disconnect the spark cap. secure something long, thin and metal into the cap ( screw, tweezers, etc) and position it with a slight gap to the frame. disable the immobiliser and use the kick start. you should see the spark jumping from the metal to the metal frame. I fyou see this spark, it is most likely that the HT coil is fine.

Sometimes the diaphragm in the fuel tap can go wonky on an ET also, meaning that it might start alright but after going for a while, once the carb drains, the engine will die from fuel starvation. to test the fuel tap, remove the 2 tubes that run from the fuel tap to the carb at the carb end and **** lightly on the thin one. you will feel the daphragm open and fuel will run from the fatter tube if it is working.

Another thing that might happen if it is running for a while then dies is that the carb might be allowing too much fuel to the engine and flooding it. If when it restarts, there is a lot of smoke from the exhaust it could indicate this. leave it tick over for a while to run off the worst of it then increase the throttle slowly until you hit full throttle, leave it run back down to idle and you should be set to go. only use the throttle lightly and go slowly and it should bring you home at least then adjust your carb.
