SOURCE: adjust clutch cable

If you have a stock cable you need a 9/16 and a 1/2 in. wrench. about 1/2 way downn the cable there is a rubber boot. pull the rubber boot over the adjustment. Loosen the liock nut and adjust the cable so you have aprox 1/8 to 1/16 in. slack in the handle. Re tighten the lock nut and pull the rubber back over the adjustment.

SOURCE: adding a factory intercom on a Electra Glide Classic

Yes, It's pretty expensive, I would talk with someone at a dealer who really know exactly whats involved. you may be better served by using Cardo's Scalia Teamset. I'd just go for the FLHTCU personally, 4 speakers, cb, intercom, fairing lowers, better resale.

When I go 75 to 80 mph my bike shakes but when I have a passenger it rides fine so what it that

Sounds like the steering head need adjustment. I would also check your tire pressure. I usually set them at 40 psi front and rear. It gives you better overall tire wear and a hair better gas mileage. If you ride in a straight line and bounce the front end using the front brake listen for a clunk. If you hear it and can actually feel it I would start at the adjustment of the steering head. It could also be spokes if you have spoke rims.

2009 ELECTRA GLIDE SEEMS OFF BALANCE WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN

Hi Anonymous, and the usual suspects are:
1. Improperly loaded motorcycle. Non standard equipment on the front end such asheavy radio receivers, extra lightning equipment or luggage tends to cause unstable handling.
2. Incorrect air suspension pressure.
3. Damaged tire(s) or improper front-rear tire combination
4. Irregular or peaked front tire tread wear.
5. Incorrect tire pressure.
6. Shock absorber not functioning normally.
7. Loose wheel axle nuts.
8. Excessive wheel hub bearing play.
9. Improper vehicle alignment.
10.Steering head bearings improperly adjusted.
11. Tire and wheel unbalanced.
12. Rims and tires out of round or eccentric with hub.
13. Rims and tires out-of-true sideways.
14. Shock absorber improperly adjusted.
15. Worn engine stabilizer links.
16. Damaged rear engine isolation mounts.
17. Swing arm pivot shaft nut improperly tightened or assembled.
Good luck and have nice day

How to get to steering head adjustment

I personally wouldnt reccomend that a novice attempts to adjust the swing back on the neck cone bearings. If you are going to attempt it then be sure you buy a factory service manual and follow it to the letter. There is alot to this adjustment and I had to make my own tools to do this adjustment and I was a factory trained technician for 10 years and suspensions were one of my specialties. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.com
