Question about Bajaj Motorcycles
Hi, Oyerinde your instrument gauges and lights can alert you to most electrical and engine issues they can not warn you about failed engine gaskets or seals so your engine has to resort to old fashion alert methods of colored "SMOKE SIGNALS" here is a breakdown of their meaning:
1. COLORLESS OR SLIGHTLY BLUE SMOKE on start-up means your air/fuel mixture is at the right composition and everything is well burnt in your combustion chamber.
2. BLUE SMOKE on start-up is usually caused by failed valve seals dripping oil into the combustion chamber when the engine is not running.
3. YELLOW OR BROWNISH SMOKE at start-up means your air/fuel mixture is too lean. Too lean means that there is low fuel but high air mixture in your combustion chamber.
4. WHITE SMOKE on start-up may be caused by a blown head gasket allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber and may start dripping out of the exhaust pipes or mufflers. Smoke while riding is usually caused by worn out or damaged valves, seals, guides, pistons, rings, or cylinder walls.
5. BLACK SMOKE on start-up is usually caused by too much fuel in the combustion chamber this can be due to air/fuel mixture adjustment too rich, accelerator pump improperly adjusted, faulty choke/enrichner or not in the off position, air filter dirty and clogged, faulty carburetor float needle and seat, pilot jet too large, fuel injectors leaking, smoke while riding is usually caused by the main jet being too large or a damaged carburetor.
It should be noted that aggressive or abnormal throttle operation will cause these conditions to manifest themselves exponentially.

SOURCE: Tick In motor every few seconds after intake gasket changed
Sounds like when they did the intake,They drained the fluids but forgot to fill them back up and since the oil was near empty,I would say it's a lifter.But they can be reprimed or replaced a whole lot easier than some other possible causes.

SOURCE: my car smoke in the morning when I spark it. When
possibly just condensation (steam) white-clear worse in colder enviroments
possible valve stem seals worn or gone hard
if its manual it may give small puff of (blue-grey) smoke out of exhaust in between gear changes at higher revs or on deceleration from hard rev while stationary it will also smell like burning oil

This is probably oil burning off which has seeped by the valves and rings overnight. Sign of a higher-mileage engine. An oil additive for high-mileage engines may help.
Otherwise, it's not a serious problem, just fair wear and tear.

Symptom: Gray or blue smoke from the exhaust. You notice gray
smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. The smoke may or
may not disappear after the car is warmed. If it is, it is less
noticeable. The smoke may have a bluish tint to it.
Possible causes:
Symptom: Engine uses more oil than normal, and there is some
smoke from the exhaust. The oil level is low between oil changes. It
appears that the oil is being burned by the engine because of the smoke
in the exhaust. You may or may not notice the engine doesn't have the
same power as it used to.

Replace piston rings. (Generally not a DIY job)
