Question about Pit Motorcycles
Hi, Stuart I would really love to help you but due to the magnitude of yesterday's solar flare the batteries in my crystal ball are dead and my mental telepathy headset circuitry was melted. I need the year, make, and model of your motorcycle please click on the word "COMMENT" below and provide this information in the box that will open and then click on the green comment box in the bottom right-hand corner after it posts I will receive an "ALERT" icon that will allow me to respond to your information.
Good luck and have a wonderful day.

It should have an oil dipstick. It really also depends what design of motoe you have. It may need as little as as 1/3 quart but could be more. Your best bet is to just add small measured amounts, let it sit for 10 minutes then check the dipstick... and add more as needed. Then once at required level, calculate how much you used for future reference. Run the motor at idle for a minute or so, then let it cool down for an hour and allow the oil to settle then check again via the dipstick.

After hunting around the web for a few, it sounds like the spring is from the timing chain tensioner. It looks like there is a button on the end of the cylinder, that end goes in first, then the spring. See if the spring is the same on both ends, the picture looks like it's smaller at one end and that end goes into the tensioner, not the bolt. I'll include a screen shot of the picture.
