The sight glass is on the bottom left side of the engine a few inches right behind the kickstand mount. You will have to tilt the bike level to check for the proper level.

It is tucked in at the lowest part of the engine way down.

Call a kawa dealership or a salvage yard they usually have free advice. or try to get a book in your library. I work on bikesmfrom 60s and 70s oldschool bro also motorbike oil is preferred than auto oil because it doesnt get sheared from the gears-wear a helmet

How much oil does a 95 kawasaki vulcan 800 hold

Hi Tom, a 1995 Vulcan takes about 3 & 1/2 quarts of oil & I strongly recommend using Royal Purple Synthetic & genuine Kawasaki filters. You do not have a dipstick but you have a sight glass that is at the bottom of the right side engine cover. Remember to only check the glass with the bike in the fully upright position (have a buddy sit on it) and do not entirely fill the glass. You will see next to the glass an upper & lower level line that cab used as a guide. Overfilling your oil will cause seal damage & on those Vulcan the first seal to go is usually the shifter shaft which costs about $6.00 for the seal but the engine needs to be removed to change it which is big bucks. Also always put in about 3 quarts & then start the bike to fill the new filter and run it for about a minute, turn the bike off & let the oil drain down for about another minute then stand it up & check your level, topping it off with the remaining 1/2 quart. I am sorry you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki but despair not, for a mere $15.00 you can download another one. Hi, Roberto and the usual suspects are:
1. Insufficient oil level or no oil in engine or tank.
2. Air in oil system that needs to be bled.
3. Blockage in the oil tank or line.
4. Oil pump failure.
5. Faulty oil pressure sending unit.
6. Grounded oil pressure light circuit.

How to check engine oil level in bajaj bikes

Hi,

It will either have a dipstick on the side of the engine which you can unscrew or it will have a spy glass.

The dipstick will be on the top side of the engine case where the clutch is on the left side of the bike when sitting on it. You should be able to unscrew it by hand. when you remove it you will see markings on it with a high and low level. you need to put oil through that hole and keep checking the level with the dipstick until you are within those markings. It may say somewhere on the engine what oil is required, if not you should be ok with a 10w/40 semi synthetic for that bike.

If it has a spy glass (little glass hole where you can see into the clutch housing) it will be on the left side of the engine at the bottom. However if it has this you will still have a cap at the top left as described above. it will just be minus the dipstick with markings. In this case you put your oil in until you see the oil filling the spyglass and stop just below the top level indicator which should be marked on the engine either side of the spyglass.

hope that helps.

You could probably check on you tube to see if their is a video on it too.

Have just purchased 1975-76 Z900 cant find any means of checking engine oil level

On the right side case cover, at the bottom towards the rear, there will be a sight glass.
If the oil is dirty, it seems hard to find because it blends in with the motor.

Just remember this, if it has a sight glass, usually the oil cap does not have a dipstick.

If the oil cap has a dipstick, then that is you means of checking oil level

Need to tune and change oil on 1996 Kawasaki vulcan 1500

a complete tune up consists of new fuel filter, oil filter, oil, plugs, valve adjust, carb sync and plug wires(optional).. if there is no dipstick, there must be a sight glass on one side of the engine down low. on that model i believe the oil filter is underneath along with the drain plug. there should be (2) 17mm bolts, one for drain plug the other for filter.
