Sounds like a dead short.your stator may have burnt up if you were nursing a bad battery and jumping it time and again.

2007 Kawasaki 900 Classic Cruiser. The headlights and tail lights not working but brake lights do work.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

It can only be the headlight switch or the wiring.

The brake lights work from power, plus the brake switch and the lamp.

The headlights work from power to headlight switch to the headlight lamp and the tail light lamp.

Apparently the headlight does work via a relay so test that.

While riding my 1999 vulcan classic for about 10 miles it starts to buck backfire, surge and stall out. I let her sit for about a minute starts right up,idles smooth and pulls strong and then the symptoms...

If you have not done so, I would suggest taking the carbs out and cleaning them thoroughly. Clean all the jets, check and adjust the float level. Check your air/fuel mixture.

Back firing is typically a sign that you are running too lean.
