Question about Motorcycles
From least to worse scenereo. If the battery is good to go then the following might help. First it may well be the solenoid which is electrical and energized the starter motor. Next it might be the starter drive section which is a mechanical component. They can sometimes break and lock up which would be a mechanical part ramifying by locking up the starter motor hence a hum because it can not turn. It could be a locked starter motor caused by anything from corrosion to part failure which locks the motor and won't let it start. Next it could be a locked engine due to excess fuel in a cylinder. To check for this, remove the plugs and see if it will turn over. If it does the problem is too much fuel which will not compress in liquid form thus preventing the engine from turning over. Lastly the biggy, engine failure of a sort that seized the engine. Hope you get it fixed soon and hope it is simple.

You have to take your bike into a Harley Davidson dealership so they can plug it into the computer and check for trouble codes with your audio system. Sounds like you can still get this done under warranty but hurry up because if you dont have an extended warranty plan your warranty is only good for 2 years.

Since the speeometer is electronic and gets it's "pulses" from the transmission, it stops whenever the transmission stops turning inside. Now, if one got into a situation in which he applied the rear brake hard enough to lock the rear wheel thereby causing the engine to stall, the speeometer would stop at that moment even if the bike didn't. This is my opinion.

Is the clutch cable adjusted correctly, you may need to adjust the cable so that the clutch is released more fully, there will be an adjuster on either end of the clutch cable - adjust it so that the cable is tighter - but there should be a little bit of play left in the clutch - if this does not cure the problem you could have some gearbox damage,
The bike is still under warranty so take it to a harley dealers and have them look at it.
