On the the 86 year,they changed to the fuel injected in 86.5,Do you have a carburetor?I have a 85 Nissan service manual I got from the dealer.The 85 and 86 with the carburetor are the same,I have a 85 4x4 model,but I have installed a Weber carb. and I have a wiring diagram.

Homer,Can you repost your problem again because it won't let me send pictures since I have already answered.Plus i will need to take pictures of my wiring diagram and post it here,also it's late here and I have to get up early to go to work,but I will send them after I get off work,I am on my home computer,so are you having problems with your brake lights,please explain what is wrong so I can help you fix it,I've had my Nissan for 23 years an am a pro at fixing,so go into detail in what is wrong,I may have had that same problem before,so lets try tomorrow.My name is Tommy.
Just thought of something,on your brake peddle,you have a brake light switch,if it is bad,then your brake lights may not work,replaced mine years ago,easy to do,just remove electrical connector ,unscrew nut and remove,Autozone has them cheap,if that's not your problem,then let me know tomorrow and we can go from their.
