I need to set up the dellorto carb on the 35s suffolk punch

Running only with full choke is a fuel problem. Unhook fuel line from carb. it should run good. If not go back the line. Check the fuel cap vent.

I have a 2008 yz 250 f I do not ride very much, but when I put it away last winter it was fine I went to start it it will run with the choke on but when i take the choke off and hold the throttle it pops...

Its not common with YZ but is very common with not starting the bike for long time - you need to take out the pilot jet and replace it with new, You could clean them but why bother they about $5 each?
If I were you whilst you have the carbi off I would change all the jets to new ones especially as been sitting for a while (not essential but worth while as off already?)

running only with choke on and backfire are classic symptoms of blocked pilot jet or incorrect size pilot jet so chuck new one in and you should be good to go
The pilot jet is the jet closest to the engine when carbi was installed (it has perforated holes on the side)
good luck regards Jamie

98 honda magna. had fuel stabilizer last october. now it starts with choke but won't rev or idle. only choke keep it running. switched out fuel. put new fuel and additives, but nothing good yet. what...

Even though you put stabilizer in the fuel, it sounds like the jets in the carburetors gummed up. Additives wont do much good at this point. You need to remove, disassemble and clean the carburetor passages and jets.

Hello I have a 1996 Suzuki DR-200 and recently put

G'day mate the 1st thing i would go for is float level then compresion if it does have the **** it wont take the fuel in , rules are if it has **** ( induction ) Squeeze (compression) Bang ( spark) and Blow (free exhaust) then it should go, if it was running to lean there is good chance it has a burnt exhaust valve which will greatly drop the compression/induction, also check the valve clearence. hope this helps

I have a 2007 Midnight Venture. It idles extremely rough (seems to be on 2 cylinders)spits and backfires even when warm except when the choke is on. Low end torgue seems to be missing. It also backfires...

Your primary jets in the carbs are clogged. (FYI- each carb has three metering jets, a primary, the needle or butterfly and the main jet. Each jet has an RPM area where it controls.) Simply blowing them out will not fix this problem. The carbs need removed and properly cleaned, the jets need to be probed and cleared then a new fuel filter installed to prevent it all from happening again. best wishes.

My yamaha 130hp outboard starts and runs good but

The carbs need to be cleaned. There is a high speed jet in the carb that is more than likely stopped up. Jim OMC retired mech.

Sputtering at low speeds and takeoff

your low speed jets are stopped up ,the carbs need cleaning, go to walmart a buy some SEAFOAM, poor it in your gas tank ,start it up on choke, and when it start ot clear up take it off of choke, or ride it until it clears up. after it starts running good get it synchronized

Wont run /idle

i'd start with removing the carbs and giving them a thorough cleaning as when bikes sit for so long, the carbs begin to get gummy/varnished from the old gas.

check for blocked holes in the pilot jet & main jet and look for "hard & dried up" gas in passages. be careful of the float bowl gasket as to not tear it or you will need a replacement.
