You definitely have a short, sometimes this is very easy to find or very hard, patience my friend. Apart from the ignition switch there is another switch that turns off the motor even though the ignition switch is on position, this might be on either side of the handles. This might be causing the problem this switch grounds the ignition coil and the engine turns off. I have heard a lot about this problem and this switch causes the problem. Maybe this might be your case

I have encountered also the same problem but with my Honda XLR 200R. I spent a lot on service, to the point that the mechanic changed my ignition coil and my wire harness but to no avail. I returned home and checked my CDI, and found a loose contact due to cold solder in the connector terminal. Hope this will help.

Why does my 97 honda shadow 1100 die when i put it in gear

Check the sidestand or clutch switch. These are safety switches to stop you pulling away with the stand down.

Bike cutting out

Do you have the kickstand up when you put it in gear? Many bikes have a lockout on the side stand to prevent you riding away with the stand down. Kills the engine instantly when placed in gear with the stand down.

The throttle stuck full open, engine was racing and cooliant was coming out of a over flow tube below radiator. Unable to stop straight away hope engine not damaged, Any advice on cause with throttle, and...

Stuck throttles can be a number of issues, but here are some possible cause:
Cable rusty or frayed..always keep them lubed up
If a slide carb, sometimes residue can cause the slide to stick if been left for a long time.
Incorrect cable routing

If the bike still has good compression and no more leaks after topping up coolant and normal riding then I think you will be OK.

Please leave favorable feedback if this has helped you.
Thank you

'06 vtx 1300 c : engine dies when put into gear

You have one of two things going on. (1) You need to check the kick stand switch, your bike thinks the kick stand is still down. It may have been loosened out of adjustment by vibration. If the kick stand switch is out of whack, it will restart as long as the clutch in pulled in. But as soon as you try to let out the clutch it will kill the engine, if it is in gear. (2) Next problem could be, you need to loosen up the clutch cable a little bit, The clutch control on the handle bar has a screw type of adjuster (clutch cable passes through it ), try loosening it till it's easy for you to move the bike without the engine shutting off. Hope it helps and comment if you need more clarification.

Nsr 125 problem

It may be a safety switch in the clutch lever or bike stand switch being a bit sticky or broken wire in the wiring harness near the steering head that bends alot.

The engine dies once the brake is released

Seat switch is defective, obstructed or otherwise inoperable for one reason or another.

Check this:
Unplug the plastic connector from the seat switch.
If it is ONE SOLID connector, stop right there!

HOWEVER, look into the connector's terminals (not the seat switch's terminals, the tractor wiring harness terminals). If you see a small square divider between the terminals and that divider is a movable, inserted part (NOT an integral part of the connector's plastic body), take a small needle-nose plier and pull it straight out of the connector's body.
BEHIND that removable square plactic piece, locate and remove the tiny torsion spring from between the two terminals. Throw these two parts away and plug the connector back into the seat switch.
Hope this helps.

Engine cutting out whilst riding along

If all the electrics go off then :-
A) Check tightness of battery terminals & condition of battery
B) Check for dodgy fuse or dirty connections
C) Check voltage across battery terminals when engine running - should be at least 12.5v rising with increasing revs to 15v max - if not then suspect the regulator/rectifier unit or the wiring from it to battery

I hope this helps, if so please mark as helpful.
Positive comments always appreciated
