My harley is leaking oil from the trans vent tube ?

The transmission may have too much oil in it. The best thing to do is to drain the oil and refill. The drain is underneath the transmission. It is the drain nearest the center of the oil pan. I think on your 05 model it is like a pipe plug on the front face of the pan. Drain the oil and refill with approved lubricant. 20-24 ounces.

Where is the oil drain plug for an 05' DWG harley?

The oil tank for your Wide Glide is on the bottom of the transmission. There should be two drains, one for the engine oil and one for the transmission. The oil drain is usually the lowest drain when the bike is on the side stand, the one closest to the left front of the oil pan. You can tell the instant you see the first drop whether it's engine oil or transmission oil. Engine oil will be black and the transmission lube will be almost clear. If you drain the transmission instead, it takes 20-24 ounces of the same H-D Syn3 20W50 engine oil.

Good Luck

How to change oil in 2003 HD FXD Dyna Super Glide

remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need either a 3/4" box wrench or a 5/8" box wrench and the drain plug will be facing forward on the the oil pan. It is easiest to remove this drain plug from under the right side of the bike. put drain plug back in after about 10 m,inutes of drain time and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. Dont forget to change the oil filter as well.

I have never changed the oil. I have a 2005 harley-dvidson road glide and I need to see the service manuals pictures of the oil pan drain and the transsion drain plugs.

There are 2 plugs (5/8 head) 1 on left horizonal is engine oil, 1 on right going up is transmission just let the bike warm up for 5 mins then undo the one on the left and let the oil drain for a couple of mins once drained retighten plug back in cleaning it before then on the right side casing is a plug unscrew this and refill with oil untill its 3/4 full on sight glass and do the same with the transmission fluid but it may have a dip stick like in a car the plug is on the left buddy anymore info get back to me

Where is the oil pan plug located on a 1999 Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide?

No oil pan plug, it is a sump system. Just find the oil tank, drain it, change the filter.

Location of oil drain plug on a 1999 HD Road King Classic

The solutions are close, so I must assume they are HD Road King answers, just not a 1999 Road King. The drain plug is on the front (facing the forks) left side (clutch) of the oil pan. On the 1999 model the drain plug is a 3/4 inch bolt. After changing the oil, be sure to replace the O-ring. The O-ring is rubber and does not last more than a single oil change. HD charges a dollar for the O-ring, but better to replace it than to end up with your new oil all over the garage floor.
