Question about 2002 Ducati 750 SS

How often do the valves need doing on this model?

I have conflicting info on the frequency of getting the valves reseated on these machines, some say 10k others say 25k...can anyone confirm the fact so I dont kill my bike?

    Thanks Buddy_J
Ducati manual says to have the shims done every 15k, I may have misunderstood the issue, and in all honesty do not understand what the term means......(having only owned Suzukis and Honda's till now Ducati maintenance is a scary world)
I hear a lot of urban myths surrounding Ducati servicing and of course the dealers back up what the service manual claims (coz its good coin). I bought the bike at 11,00kms in immaculate order and wish it to stay that way :)

Brent, valves don't need to be reseated unless they are worn, that will vary by mileage and use or abuse of the machine. I strongly suggest the purchase of a compression guage and start a log book, check compression of each cylinder at least every six months. Track the values in a log book, do it both 'dry' nothing injected into the cylinder and 'wet' a small squirt of light oil in the hole prior to attaching the guage. Do this with all plugs removed to prevent the engine from starting. Also while your in to the motor checking valve clearance will indicate wear over time. Depends on the make and model on how to adjust that clearance if at all.

The Water Level Frequency Sensor operation is based on the displacement of the *coil* attached to the diaphragm.
When the *coil* raises or lowers---it changes the electronically resonant characteristics of the oscillator circuit.
The water level is measured by the Main Board---by frequency readings.
I've never had a failed Water Level Sensor.
It is best tested while on the washer---by using the TEST MODE.
On most LG washers---the Test Mode is enabled by pressing and holding the SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons---and then pressing the POWER button (release all 3 buttons and wait for the door to lock).
Press the START / PAUSE button 4 times at one second intervals (Prewash Cold Water Fill)
The display read-out on the Control Panel will show the *frequency*
Empty---the frequency read-out should be about 255
A tub full of water should show a frequency of about 214 (depending on model number)
Some of the errors that can be displayed---relating to water fill are...
IE error:
Little or no water---usually caused by a failed Water Valve
FE error:
Too much water (overflow detected)---Can be a failed/stuck open Water Valve or blockage in the black air tube which is connected to the Water Level Frequency Sensor. Disconnect the tube from the sensor---and blow air back into the tub to clear obstruction.
To test the Water Level Frequency Sensor outside of the washer...
Use a test meter to check the ohms between pins 1 and 3 (should have between 21 & 23 ohms).

Hi. I have a GE range model CGS985SET2SS. I need a new valve assembly due to over tightening the appliance connector hose. I see conflicting info on the web. Is WB19K10043 the correct part?

Hello. The valve, part designation 1600 on the exploded parts diagram is called a "lockout valve" and has the part number WB19K10059. It may cross-reference to another part number--that is common. The control valve, part designation 214 on the diagram is part number WB19K10079. I hope I helped you!

I just purchased an HP wireless Optical Mouse model: WE788AA I'm running XP. When I plug the 'adaptor' into the USB port, it is recognized by my system but then the mouse doesn't work. There are new...

Your mouse should use the standart windows mouse driver. It sounds like you might have a signal conflict. Check which frequency your mouse is using and check for other equipment using the same or similar frequencies. I had a similar problem with my wireless keyboard and mouse it was my wireless network interfering. Once you find out what the interference is you'll need to check your manuals or contact the manufacture to find out if you can change the frequency.

Maytag washer leaks a lot of water during fill and spin cycle

If your machine type is not a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW please disregard my post.

Can you determine if the water leak is coming from the Top Lid Assembly? If so you may want to reseat the Inner Lid Panel assembly. See the Service Manual page 32 Lid Disassembly/Removal. Follow to step 5 and then reseat the inner panel. Could also be hose connections from the Water Inlet Valve to the Detergent Dispenser Water Valve. See pages 35&36 for info.

You will have to release the washer top from the washer base to inspect those valve assemblies. See page 33 for the process steps. All this assumes you want to DIY the repair if not I would call in a repair service.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Post back if you have questions.

I have a Whirlpool top loading washer Model # LSR8233EQ0 that the water mixing valve needs to be replaced. How do you get to that valve? Do you remove the back of the machine or go from the front?

Do not remove the back.Take 2 screws off front ends of console and pull slightly forward and flip it up- it is hinged on the backPop off two spring clips that engage cabinet. Unplug lid switch wire. Tilt cabinet forward and the whole thing comes off. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Reducing the noise when the washing machine is on spin cycle

Nothing is wrong w/ the unit. It must be solid on the floor with no movement in the feet relative to the flooring or it will rock when spinning. Floor is simply not solid enough. Use slower spin speed to alleviate issue or relocate it. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

GE Model WBVH6240 washing machine

Might be the water inlet valve. It is located just behind where your water hoses attach to the washing machine. Pretty simple and inexpensive place to start. Shut off the water supply to the washing machine, disconnect the hoses, remove the small cover and you should be looking at the valve the hoses were attached to. Ideally, you should get the part from this site since they provided the money saving info. If you can't figure out part info, next choice would be your local (not big box retailer) appliance store. Just take in the valve and tell them what model machine you have and they should be able to help. There are many useful diagrams and instructions on the web if you need more specifics.
