I need to remove the carbs from a 1987 Kawasaki GPX 750R. Any tips or suggestions? There is very limited room due to the air box (which can't come out until the carbs are off. There must be someone out...

remove seat and side panels to gain access to everything. unbolt the airbox there should be three or four bolts and atleast one is going to be hidden. loosen clamps on air boots from airbox to carbs and slide back air box. it might only move an inch or two but that is all you need. unhook everthing on carbs and loosen clamps on intake boots. slide and wiggle back on carbs and you should have enough room.

Especifications fuel level carbs zx 7r 97

Without the manual, I would ensure they are set by holding carby vertical so that the float is hanging downward. In this position you shouldnt be able to blow into carb through petrol line and usually the float jointing will lie parallel to carb body

    1986 Kawasaki Ninja won't fire

Theres fuel starvation, the carbs are not getting required fuel in other words the float chambers doesnt get the correct amount of fuel .
Check the fuel flow from the petcock to the carburators.
Check the float pin and adjust accordingly to get the right level inthe float chamber of each carburator.
    Hope this helps!

Have a 97 Suzuki GSXR750 that is sluggish in first till about 30mph then gets up and goes. any Ideas as to why?

It is a carb(s) problem in that the low speed side of the carbs is blocked by debris or varnished frpm bad gas. Pull the carbs, clean them and you will be back in business! The process of pulling the carbs is a bit detailed for this forum, so I suggest getting a manual from your local library and follow the carb removal instructions. it isnt that difficult and can be done in a couple of hours. Be sure to use a good carb cleaner (such as STP from the auto parts store) best wishes!

    Rough running kawasaki

you need to let it warm up before beating on it. inline 4s are always cranky when cold. another issue could be dirty carbs and clogged carb jets causeing it to run extreemly lean, rev high and die out. pulling 4 carbs isnt "fun" but you could do it in an afternoon.
