Hi hope someone can help, i have a 1997 yz 125 with no spark not sure wether it could be the cdi unit or staror needs re winding i have a multimeter and was wondering if any one knew how to test the stator and cdi unit thanks
G'day i am a . YZ 125 j ...lets see now! You could perform these tests yourself.Check your plug CAP,if in doubt replace it with a new one. Take the below ohm figures and see if they match up. Pulse coil: white/blue and white/red= 310 ohms. low speed coil: Green/white and Black/red= 900 ohms. high speed coil: Green/blue and black= 55 ohms. hope this has helped in some way to helping you solve your problem. If it has please leave feed back.Ride hard , see ya,Tabbycat

1s replace plug/s, if good most likely ignition coil is fried. take coil to dealership, they will test for free. if thats all good, yes its the cdi. but since this bike is so new, make sure your spark plug cable contacts are clean and good, specially if you have been riding in the mud
