The tempature gage when I'm stopped shows that its overheating,,why is it overheating?

Because the motor is not running, the water has stopped flowing through the system. The heat that has built up in the motor once you have stopped, shows on the temp gauge. If you start the motor, the cooler water that is in the radiator will now flow into the barrells and head of the motor and the temp. will drop.If you sit and run the bike without moving, the same thing may happen. There is no airflow over the radiator. Then the fans kick in..You don't have anything to worry about. You may get a slight water leak from the radiator if it is overfilled, but that will stop once everything is up and running.
Hope this helps

Check your ground wires, that can cause a fuse to blow..Make sure the replacement fuse is same amperage as the original....the fan on this is only supposed to run at low traffic speeds right? you shouldn't need it at highway speeds.. Good luck to you friend....Tim

New battary wont stay charged

Poor wiring. CHeck the connections leading to the temperature gauge. If the battery won't stay charged it maybe a symptom of short circuit. Check the wirings, there maybe worn electricals making contact with the chassis. Worse case is the charging circuit is not working. (alternator, regulator)
