I would be amaized if there was an easy bypass for this. I would really start looking for that key. The key, barell and ECU are matched. If you lose a key with a HIPS equiped bike you are in or a big bill as all 3 units need replacing. There is a chip in the key which is matched to a coil in the ignition which has a code embeded in the ECU. Good luck.

The hiss system gives me nonsense. If you switch bike on(cbr 600rr 2004 model) the hiss light is off and Al 4 flickers stays on. Bike won't start. What to do please

Hi, Hennie and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

How do i hotwire my 1997 cbr 600f3 lost my key and need asap to ride in charity event

This has been asked before, the link is below. The answer doesn't say how to hotwire it, but provides hints on how to replace the key. A modern bike is probably pretty hard to hotwire.

How to bypass ignition system on my 2005 cbr 600rr

Don't know how it started as Hondas have chips in their keys which immobilizes the ignition system. Unless the ECU recognises the key specific to that bike, it won't start. The only other alternative is to put a race ECU into it.

1993 Honda CBR 900 RR Fireblade will not turn over

Hi, Jamesallenbs before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter have failed or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

I lost the key to my 1999 Honda CBR 600 can anyone tell me how to hot-wire the bike so i can get it to the dealership and get a new key. It's my only vehicle

Do not damage your motorcycle. The key code is on every lock on the bike. Your helmet lock has the code. The back side of your ignition switch has the code . The number is also on your fuel cap, but you have to take it off to read it. The code is six digits long Example: 345A56 A56 is the key code or 999123 123 is the key code. You can take this code to the dealer or to a locksmith and have them cut a key.

Hello am new both on here and to using biking. My Honda CBF 125cc is brand new -just two weeks old.(NOTE: It is not a cbr 125 but I had to choose that option as there my model was not offered in the menu)....

Since it is only two weeks old, I suggest you ride it to the dealer and let them look at it. They will not charge anything because the bike is under warranty.

The problem is in the ignition switch, although NOT an electrical issue. You will need to remove the ignition and take out the tumbler that the keys rides in. On the back side of the tumbler, there is a white tab that is moved by an arm that slides a pin up and down which locks the steering. Dont be intimidated by this repair. I was when I did it, but was actually quite easy. Just take you time and take pics to look back on as reference.
