did it freeze? drain the oil from your lower unit and check for water. it would have to be 'VERY' cold for the gear oil to freeze but the water could crack the housing.
dude when u feel like dat just try to shift to ur 2nd or 3rd gear & leave cluch normally dat might cause to ur gear box but u will defnitly controll speed
