Of course try ebay and keep checking back since new posts appear all the time. also google "race plastics" for your bike and you might find a set of race plastic you can use and cut out the headlight area and plastic weld headlight mount tabs into it. lastly, google some the huge salvage yards and ask them to search for one of they dont have one already...many of the big dismantlers are on a nationwide intranet and they can out up a request to fellow salvage yards around the country to help you out. good luck and the cbr 600 cane was always one of my faves !!

Do I need to remove my fairing to replace the headling bulbs?

Hi there,

well you can please follow the below steps -

Remove the Fairing - 1. Unscrew all seven outer fairing fasteners using a Torx driver. These screws are located on the inner fairing near the windshield, the speakers, and the handlebar clamps.
2. Stand in front of the motorcycle. Tilt the outer fairing toward you and hold it firmly. Reach in and disconnect the wire connectors for the headlight assembly by hand.
3. Move the fairing to a work bench to continue the procedure.

Change the Headlights - 1. Remove the wire harness connectors from the back of each headlight that need replacement. Turn the plastic retainer counterclockwise by hand to remove each bulb from its housing.
2. Install the new headlight bulb or bulbs, with each bulb's wider ears on the bulb back plates oriented toward the top. Screw in the plastic retainer rings by hand.
3. Connect the headlight wire harness connectors to the back of each headlight.
4. Move the fairing back to the motorcycle. Reinstall the fairing, battery and seat in reverse order.
Please post comments if you need more help or information.........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Wrecked 07 GSXR1000. upper front damage, missing right and left fairing, speedometer, and broken left clip on. everything else fine. i need a parts list necessary to just install speedometer and race...

http://www.bikebandit.com/ http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ http://www.drumhillcycle.com/ If racing only I would not waste time/weight on a speedometer, use a tachometer only. But you can try http://www.jpcycles.com/ for generic will fit parts. The airtech site has factory type and race only fairings and can suggest brackets needed. You can also try e-bay for a complete fairing setup w/ decals, will be the least expensive, and lighter weight than factory.

Thats a very fair estimate.

Tha job requires 1.8 hours per side and a front end alignment.

Front indicators

Removing the indicators is a simple process involving the removal of the fairing to unclip and unplug them from the fairing. The plastic press studs that hold sections of the fairing in place are prone to breaking when you remove them but are easily obtained from your local Yamaha dealer and inexpensive.
