Having
indicators

You have a number of problems here. First thing to do is remove the tank and seat and look for chaffed, cut or disconnected wires. Also look inside the headlight for the same. Check all connectors for clean contact. On older bikes they will corrode.

Get yourself a Workshop manual as they carry good wiring diagrams.

Wires touched on lights now no start

you will need to search out for main fuse and replace it , most bikes fuses are located under seat nearby the battery .
a product called liquid electrical tape is something I use to coat all the electric connections on my bike , I could even ride it in rain if needed and have no shortage problems then
helps with vibration loosing up things as well ,keeps all the connectors tight !

My battery has full charge my front and back lights work but indicators and electric start don't ?

For the starter, check the start side of the start solenoid for power when you press the start button. Make sure you have met all the start criteria (be in neutral, clutch, side stand, kill switch any other safety interlock devices)

As for the lights - look for your flasher and check it.

you will have to install a lighting coil and a resistor the lighting coil will install behind the magneto and the resistor somewhere else the resistor is so the light will not surge and burn out or put out to much current and burn the lights out

Electric start on speedfight 2 wont work have installed a new battery as the bike has been standing for about a year

If it will kickstart, but the leccy foot doesn't work, make sure the brake light comes on with both front and rear brake light switches as these also function as ignition cut out switches. The switches tend to wear badly on the plungers and if the brake light don't come on you will probably have to replace. One or other of the brake lights MUST be operate before the starter will work. If these are OK, check the starter itself by use of a jumper pack or another battery and jump leads. Leave the ignition switched OFF. Negative lead to a good earth like the kickstart, touch the positive directly to the terminal on the motor, careful, not a lot of room in there, if the starter don't turn, it's probably goosed. Replace.

hope this helps

Hi, I need a front and rear tyre for my Ducati 400ss 1989 size 130/60/16 and 160/60/16. can you help; Regards Barry.

Hi Barry
There are now some AVON brand harley davidson sports tyres which fit this bike now, with only some small modifications. I just had it done to my 400 SS junior and I must say it make the bike look mean. They are more round with a slightly higher wall profile.
The ones that fit are
Front - AVON 120/80/ZR16
Rear - AVON 150/80/ZR16

regards
Lyndon

Electrical problem

The best way to troubleshoot an electrical problem is to return the bike to it's original condition and get everything to work like that. Then (using the correct instructions) reinstall the accessories one at a time making sure each part works before going on to the next one.
The "extra" wires probably are not extra. They may be the ground wires, Honda dosen't ground anything through the frame. Be sure you (or the person installing accessories) knows how to work with electric components.

pull the light from it's bezel and check plug for fit and cleaness and wires in side for split or broken also look at ground wire if none of the above try the switch take it apart and check for cleaness.

Have you checked the flasher relay. It should make a ticking noise when using the indicators or hazard lights.
This could be your problem
good luck

Electrical Issue

Had the same problem. I had to remove battery, take apart the battery terminals, sand them a little, then put it all back together. Make sure the screw on the front of the terminal holding the inner bar in place if very tight. Have had no problem ever sense. Good luck.
