1997 Honda CB750 choke return problem

The bar that connects all 4 carbs, when pushed, will return the 4 choke brass plungers on each carb, with a click but won't as they should do without manually pushing. I tried gt85 and moving said piece but no luck. there is a definite click when pushed down so it seems like something is resisting, cable is good, any ideas? thanks

The choke when activated on the lever will not return fully on the four carbs(as they are connected by a long linkage).the choke parts on each carb will only go back part of the way,so she runs fast

Running on one cylinder

Probably a dead sparkplug. There can be many causes but start by checking the starter valve plungers (chokes) on the carburetors. Return springs inside the metal elbow get corroded. Rubber face of the plunger gets worn. The engine then runs with one carb in a permanent choke condition and the rich fuel mix destroys the sparkplug.

1995 Yamaha XV 250 Virago Is there a need to adjust the choke (start) cable? If so, how is it adjusted. I think I'm having a problem with my choke and was planning to replace the cable and starter...

The problems with a plunger style choke happen when the rubber on the bottom becomes deformed and does not seal or the spring does not push the plunger down hard enough, or the cap breaks so the plunger is not pushed down hard enough. If you put your finger over the hole and the bike runs properly your bike is running on choke. You have to block the hole deep inside the carb to shut off the choke. I assume the original problem was that the bike would not idle .If this is the case, take the carb apart remove the slow jet and clean the jet and the carb body out so fuel will flow at idle. This should fix your no idle problem.

Triumph daytona 1200 95 running to rich loads of black smoke

hi,first place i would look is the choke circuit of the carburettors,if the bike has a cable fitted to the choke make sure that the cable operates freely, and returning fully to the off position, also check that the lever that the choke operates (on the carb)is returning to the fully off position, failing that, you may have to remove the carbs from the bike and check that the plunger(which is operated by the choke cable)inside the body the carb has not jammed inside its casing, failing that, you may have to have the carbs serviced by someone with a syncronizer to optimize the fuel air ratio, sometimes the mixture screws in some bikes have been known to alter with the vibration etc of normal operation,i would say that it is definatley a carb/choke/mixture problem that will not be to expensive to put right..hope this helps...cheers ian

have had the same problem many times. spray carb cleaner into hole where the brass plunger is located give it a little time to let the cleaner work. put some force on the cable it may come out if not remove the cable at the other end so you can remove carb to work on it
