Where the fuse box is on a 2014 1200 sporster

Sounds like you have a bad hydraulic lifter. It's acting like a solid lifter with too much clearance until it pumps up with oil.

There is a fuse for the lights. It's in a fuse box located either under the seat or behind the triangular plate on the left side of your bike. If it's not blown, take the lens off and check the bulbs for broken filaments. The running light wire is the blue wire in the turn signal units. You may have to trace this out to find the problem.

the size should be 3/16 inch. Now, the problem may be a clearance problem causing you to be unable to get the wrench into the hex head bolts of the upper rocker box cover. I cut a piece of the 3/16" hex key about a half inch long, drilled a hole in a piece of thin flat steel and pressed the piece of hex key into the hole. The wrench is then only about 3/8" thick allowing me to get the wrench into the bolts.

unless you have the motor out its near if not impossible to get a torque wrench on the bolts so what most do use blue loctite on your bolts and draw all bolts down evenly till you make metal to metal [cover to rocker] then maybe 1/8 turn more the key is even torque

I think the fuses are under the trianglar plate on the left side of the bike.

The positive wire to the head light is short circuiting somewhere remove the headlight and follow the wire back to its origin, check the condition of the wire and whereever it makes contact with metal surfaces it may be getting pinced some where in the wiring harness, worst case scenario the headlight relay is bad and must be located and replaced. There is a triangle piece right behind the battery on the left side of the bike. either it just pulls out or you have to remove the three screws to access it. It's on the back side of that panel
