Motor is running fast when i start it chock seems to stay closed engin light is on

A 2000 Isuzu would have fuel injection not a carb, so no choke is used.
You would need to get the computer checked for trouble codes, I would suspect a huge vac leak is the cause of the fast idle.

My MAC 3227 trimmer will start an only run for a short time (less than a minute). It needs for the chock to be in the half chock position to start. If I move the chock to non-chock it stops. If I...

remove the carburator.. It's plugged.
disassemble and soak the body in fresh gasoline for about 10 mins.
Blow out all the ports with small engine carb cleaner and reassemble.
Drain the gas tank , clean it and refill with fresh gas mixture
It doesn't take much to clog those little carbs

It takes to lot start it wont stay running if i have the chock out part way out it will run but it needs head gasket could it be that

If it needs a head gasket, what else is wrong.? It won't run right at all without the proper back pressure, Is it water cooled? Also sounds like the slow speed jets are clogged, did it sit for a while? Need to check that out, those things have to be spotless, or it won't idle or start. Hope this helps.

In cold temps below 25deg. when engine is first started it acts like the engine is chocking out and won't stay running. when engine warms up it runs fine. 3.3 V-6. is they a sensor that is causing this?

The coolant temperature sensor located near thermostat housing can cause those symptoms. If price at autoparts store seems high, try dealer, sometimes they are cheaper.

Chainsaw starts and runs fine for a few minutes

Try fresh fuel making sure oil and gas mixture is correct. Carb might need cleaning and adjustment.

it sounds like the new idle you put in is set too low so the truck is getting barely enough gas to start and keep running try turning up the air fuel mixture and it should be better hope this helped
