My Suzuki gsf650 has suddenly refused to start, any ideas?

Hi, David and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose.
6. Faulty ignition coil or ignition / electronic module
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

My bike was running perfectly and then just stopped.

check for spark... if there is a spark it could be a fuel problem... check that the petcock is free flowing.. also try spraying brake cleaner in the air inlet... if it starts up that means that fuel aint flowing thru the carbs.. give them a good cleaning

Why wont my suzuki bandit 250 start? it turns over but doesnt start, i changed the spark plugs last week and it started and then tried this week and doesnt start again, i took 1 plug out and it was very...

If you tried to start the engine for any length of time, the plug would be damp and smell of petrol because fuel was being drawn into the combustion chamber. Without spark to ingnite the mixture, it would cause the plug to become damp. I am assuming you fitted the correct spark plug and that it is gapped correctly.

I don't mean this to sound foolish, but I would suggest you make certain the emergency kill switch has not been accidentally switched off. Also, if you have a sidestand safety interlock that prevents the engine being started while the side stand is down, flip up the sidestand and try again to start it.

Additionally, to make sure the plug wire is securely fitted to the plug. It is possible that the inside of the plug wire cap has gathered moisture and may need to be wiped dry.

If none of the above suggestions solve the problem, remove the plug then reconnect it to the plug wire and hold it near the cylinder - but not near the plug hole in the cylinder head (fuel vapors) - while pressing the starter . You should see an obvious spark. No spark likely means the coil is faulty.
