I have 2002 road star midnight. I lost completely spark on all 4 spark plugs. Before bike was running OK but sometimes on low RPM while idling would skip a firing on a at least one cylinder making spufff like sound. I put new spark plugs, and wiggled a little coil wires. Bike with new spurk plugs would not fire up at all. Checked for spark on all 4 spark plugs - no spark., not even an electrical I lost completely spark on all 4 spark plugs. Bike with new spark plugs would not fire up at all. Checked for spark on all 4 spark plugs - no spark., not even an electrical charge going to spark plug. Went back to coils. Each coil (there 2 of them) has 2 spark plug wires and 2 ignition timing signal wires connected to them. I realized that these ignition timing wires contacts are corroded to the point they would not conduct a charge from the distributor to coil. CLEAN ALL THE TIMING WIRES Contacts on the coils. I did that and bike fired up right away and started running much better without sputtering or skipping a cylinder firing. SO DISCONNECT ALL THE COIL WIRES AND BRUSH THE CONTACTS WITH A SMALL METAL WIRE BRUSH.

Stator will stop the cdi from firing the spark plug and either cdi or stator if bad will stop a spark from being created. The coil, wiring, kill switch and other things can also stop ignition spark.
You can't, unless you want to push your scooter everywhere. The CDI box stores an electric charge that is sent to the coil to create a spark that makes the engine run. No CDI, no spark at the plug.
Generic Chinese CDI's sell for less than $10 and are perfect, if unreliable, copies of Honda CDI's. Just get the same kind of connector as on your CDI.
The blue with white stripe will go from stator to cdi box. Then black with yellow stripe goes from cdi box to coil will give you spark. If u have no spark and u u haven't changed cdi box or checked coil I'm going to bet that's ur problem. Hope this helps.
The year of the magna can make a difference on the answer. Early magna's had two cdi boxes. Later models had one.The front two cylinders use the same coil and possibly the same cdi box.I suspect a bad coil since since it operates both cylinders. Compare the readings between the two coils or switch them to see if the problem changes from front to back. This will work for duel cdi box models too. If these checks show no change in the front cylinders not firing, You probably need a new pulse pick up(the cdi equivalent of points.
The spark plug is located on the cylinder head of the engine. Look for a really thick wire from the ignition coil. The plug is on the other end. Your plug, if a four stroke engine, is a CR7HSA, which takes a 5/8 deep well socket to remove. The CDI is a black box, sometimes in the battery box, most often under the seat bucket after its removed.
