Kick start husqvarna wr 360 2000 mdl snapped off completely can i use ktm kickstart for this ??

Does ktm and husqvarna parts normally fit each other ??

That is not likely. Unless that motorcycle came with a kick starter in some permutation, the machining needed to fit an additional gear to the junction between the starter pinion and the flywheel would be beyond most budgets and machine shops. My 1987 wr 430 was easy to kick this morning when i baught it it has lots of compression but it got hard to kick so i pop started it to get it home and now its super hard to kick whats wrong?


Piston rings could have snapped and is making it hard to move piston in barrel I wouldn't recommend using bike till you check piston out as you could damage header of engine and may need it replacing if you damage it too much.

Ktm wont start


sounds like you may have over adjusted the decompressor, back it off to where it was, this would make it backfire.
To kick them, push the kickstart through its stroke until you get to feel the compression as it approaches the compression stroke, then use the decomp to kick it just past top dead, let the decomp go and then kick it, no throttle

I try to kick start it and it just backfires, and then right after there is so much compressions it just about takes my leg off


hi,this should be fitted with a decompessor,if it is not,then try this,gently turn the bike over with the kicksart untill you feel the piston coming up to top dead centre (you will feel the compression rising)thenlet the kickstart return to its normall position,now give the kickstart a good healthy kick and the bike should fire up,if you think a 450 is hard work,wait till you try a 500 velocette with no decompessor if you dont get those things right they will either fire you over the handle bars into the workshop bench or break your leg in the process or worse a combination of both the above..good luck..hope this helps...cheers

My kx100 kickstart won't work


have a look at the clutch cable there may be far to much slack on it so your not fully disengaging the clutch thats why the bike pulls forwards

Take it to a shop and get it tuned - remotely diagnosing problems with a modded bike is impossible.

2005 ktm 525 sx is hard to kickstart , is there any trick to maket it more easy to kickstart?


Yes, there is a proper way to start the engine. Four controls are on your bike to assist in starting.
  • The choke, used when the engine is cold. Pull the knob for choke.
  • The " Hot Start " Lever, used when the engine is hot. Pull the lever to lean the fuel mix when the engine has been running.
  • The de-compression lever, always used.
  • The throttle, used to prime the cylinder.
Don't kick, instead, push the kick lever downward. You will feel the back pressure as the piston is going upward on the compression stroke to the point the pressure is great enough that the kick lever "locks up". You are very close to TDC. NOW, pull in the de-compression lever. Push the kick lever a little bit more to get the piston past TDC. Now release the de-compression lever. Give the throttle a 1/4 turn then let it snap closed. A diaphragm in the carb gives a shot of gas when this is done. DO NOT do this multiple times because you will flood the engine. Leave the throttle closed when kicking. Now give a strong kick through the full sweep of the kick start lever. Quickly get your foot off the kick lever at the end of the kick to avoid any chance of "kickback" from the kick lever. This happens in the case of a misfire, aka > backfire. It can be very painful, and can even break a leg. I am serious about that. Repeat the process (but without the throttle priming), until the bike starts. A good battery, a clean spark plug, a clean carb and clean air filter will also aid in starting.
