Question about 1983 Suzuki Gs 550 L
So my 1983 Suzuki GS550L just died a few hours ago. It was very hot, and the engine cut when I was trying to go forward from a stop, I think maybe I let go of the clutch too fast. But It starts up again when I've done that in the past. It didn't this time. At first it muttered once when I put the choke on full blast, but it now just clicks, nothing. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, and hope it starts again, please help! This has happened before, though those times the bike wasn't that hot.
Check to see if you still are getting spark. check the voltage of the batt. with a multi meter and see if you have power. does your headlight stay bright or is it now dim. tell tale signs of the batt. life.

Yes , there is a cartridge style oil filter under a round cover in the front of the machine. There are three dome nuts with sealing washers that hold the cover on. The spring goes against the front cover to push the filter into the motor. Be sure to replace the o-ring on the cover so you do not create new leaks.
