Depends on where you loive [weather extemes]
below zero & very hot summers i would use 0/40
average temps 10/40 wieght oil
dont mix brands stay with one always & get a good synthetic oil
no cheap stuff !
as its a good insurance policy for your investment [bike]
Cheers rob

What kind of engine oil and spark plugs do I need for my 04 Vulcan 800 Classic? Thx

SAE 10-40 weight 3.1 quarts with an oil filter change, I would stick with a motorcycle oil, try to stay away from car oils.

NGK CR7E and the gap should be set at .028-.031 inches

I need to kniow what type of oil to use in my 2001

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.
