My mechanic is asking to re bore my bajaj pulsar 150 2006 model. Just wanted to check if i should do that or replace the entire bore piston kit

Hi, Amit it takes special equipment and skill to bore a cylinder properly so it can be guaranteed then there is the price difference if you trust your mechanic and reboring is substantially cheaper then go for it but if the difference is just a few "DRACHMA" then get the big bore kit for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need, please click on the links below. Hello Bipin,
Even I own a Bajaj Pulsar 150 dtsi and even I faced the same issue with my bike a couple of years back. The engine has to face this wear and tear at some stage is understood. The life of the Piston and bore depends entirely on the frequency of the time we replace the engine oil on time. Ideally for best results, I would suggest replacing the engine oil on frequency of kilometres say approx- every 600 to 800 kms instead of the duration you follow. 3 months is pretty long for oil to be replaced. Also, I learned from my mechanic that the symptoms for such issues is white smoke being emitted from the silencer while starting your bike. Losing your top speed and the pickup. For the moment if you are seeking to know if you must undergo the repairs - I would suggest -YES and you need it very urgently to avoid any engine seizure problems. If an engine seizure occurs, then you have no other option other than towing your bike to the nearest service station.

My bajaj 150 dtsi make 2008 model, oil consumption problem, every 500km .oil consumption is 100 ml pls suggest, engine noise very badly some times

Is black smoke is coming out of silencer, then oil is also ignited along with petrol..This is due to pistol ring is enlarge. So go to some good mechanic and change ask him to have evaluate problem. Tell him to clean piston head and replace timing chain rather than fixing...it will really makes a different in engine sound..Also check engine oil seal(A BLACK CIRCULAR CAP IN ENGINE)..which right side on the up of the spark plug

I got replaced piston assembly, timing chain and clutch plate, of my bike, but after that also, performance of engine is very bad, its sucking engine oil, throwing smoke

Did you set right the piston rings on the pistons and did you measure the bore of the cylinder if it is within the tolerance?
Recheck the valve timming too ,since you have replaced the chain ,you may hve got it a liitle off or so.

I had bought a new shocker however in around 5

This is a chinese motorcycle so tehy are littered with problems, you coul take your shocker apart and make sure the springs are not caught, or if it is oil like your front forks, you could drain out the oil and put in new :)

Their is a Ta pit sound, yes the oil is burning,no,i had a problem with the bore, when local mechanic opened the bore,he showed that the rod is shaking,it has to be replaced,to replace he has to open the...

Yes. He will need to split the case to get the conrod out. Here's what you can expect to change, probably the piston and barrel. If the piston does not have lines on it and the rings still fit tightly in the grooves, you might be able to do a rings job and hone the barrel. You will need to replace the gudgeon pin bearing and big end bearing. If the crankshaft has marks on it that will need to be replaced as well. He should also replace the crankshaft seals. You might as well put in a new oil pump and have the valves re faced. At the end, if your mechanic is good you should have a good engine. You might find it cheaper to find a similar bike with low mileage that has been in an accident. It will be a lot easier and cheaper to take out your engine and put another one in. It would take a couple of hours.
