1st make sure the fuse is good under seat near battery !! then take out one spark plug and rest it near metal (don't hold it !! ) and crank engine over (key on) do u see a blue spark on end ?? if so you have fire , if not you need to go further to see why , connectors on plugs I find are the \\biggest problem on bikes now , seems they don't make em water proof !! and everyone tries to avoid it but they allways do get caught out in the rain sometime !! the rain doesn't effect em right away takes a few days then the little pins in there get what looks like "baby powder" on them that's the bad stuff it all needs to come off !! bike don't run till there clean and bright again !!

Replace timing belt on Porter Cable generator

With center bolt and windings removed apply wd40 to area where engine crank enters the armature. Also apply wd40 into hole where center bolt was attached. Let oil work for a while. Use piece of hardwood against metal part of armature and give a solid hit with good size hammer being careful not to damage wiring. If it does not come loose with first hit apply more oil then hit opposite side of armature. If after second hit no joy, spray carb cleaner into areas where you used wd40 and let sit (carb cleaner will thin wd40 for better penetrating action) , then hammer armature (hardwood over metal part) one solid hit . Give oil time to work, crank is taper fit and could have some rust. Good luck

There is a 2 second hesitation in my throttle when trying to accelerate to 2nd gear. Possible solutions?

Clean the carb plus check for intake leaks.
checking for intake leak warm your bike up take a can of WD40 while the motorcycle is running spray with WD40 with the nozzel attached around the carb joint/manifold if there are intake leaks the engine rpm will change then you will know you need to replace the o-ring or gasket or carb manifold/carb joint.

I have a 2000 Silverado it cranks but wont starts

its either not getting gas or its not getting spark to the plugs.. check if its a gas problem by spraying wd40 directly into the air intake as you try to start it.... if it tries to fire up then you have a gas problem of some sort... check the spark by taking out one plug and then take a screwdriver and touch the side of the screwdriver to the side of the plug(with plug wire attached) and the end of the screwdriver to the engine ..have someone crak the engine and see if the plug sparks.. If it doesnt, you have an electrical or distributer problem

Kubota G4200H Diesel won't smoke or fire up. New gas pump, fuel filter, battery, glow plugs, new gas. Bleed lines many times. Voltage at glow plugs ( approx. 10 volts), glow lamp works. Checked 10amp fuse....

There is air in the high-pressure line from pump to injector. Ensure that there is diesel up to the pump inlet, Back off the injectors connector(s) one turn (so it's loose but not falling off). Connect a FULLY CHARGED battery and crank until diesel comes out of the loose injector connector. Whilst still cranking, tighten the injector nut. With any luck, the engine will start. You may have to repeat this several times.

The 'cheat' is to spray WD40 into the air intake after removing the filter, and crank. The engine will fire on the WD40 and run fast enough to purge the fuel line. Even when doing this, you may still need to back off the injector connector(s).

My pressure washer starts on the first pull but shuts off right away.how come

the carb is dirty, drain the carb bowl sump, then if your lucky get fresh gasoline and clean and refill the gas tank, also get a spray can of carb cleaner into the intake from the parts store and while running & gently spray into intake as not to kill engine, this may help then fresh gas can finish cleanout, otherwise the carb needs to be replaced and being a genset most dont sell a rebuild kit, and are sealed so as to keep rpm's constant on a genset for voltage output and safe levels of power output

2000 olds intrigue, when idling and coming to stops the car has a tendancy to bog down and even kill sometimes. Maf sensor and crank position sensor already changed out. what could be causing this.

do this procedure it works
Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

You really need to find the source of the air leak !
It there is a leak it will cause all sorts of mayhem.
A good way to find a vacuum leak is to spray some engine start or WD40 around the engine but away from the air intake , If the engine speeds up when you spray thats where you leak is.
Hope this helps.

Vacuum hose leak? whistling sound on 2002 grand prix se

Take some WD40 and with engine running spray some around all vacume lines if a line is leaking the engine will rev up, than you will know where its at, just watch where you spray it, stay away from exhaust and electrical as much as possible, you don't need to spray a whole lot,A intake gasget might be leaking too try around there consentrating around #1 cyl., just be carefull don't need a fire.

Wont stay running

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM LEAK. TO CHECK THIS GET A CAN OF CAR SPRAY AND SRAY AROUND THE INTAKE GASKET WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, IF THE ENGINE HAS A LEAK IT WILL START RUNNING OK WHILE THE YOU ARE SPRAYING.
