It sounds to me that there is a lose connection inside the cdu, you will need to replace it,any suzuki dealer will sell you a new one, for your model. a newer model will probably do the trick, but will cost you more. parts for s.rad suziki's are still easy to get hold of. if your local dealer is a bit pricey ,then try e-bay, there are plenty of s.rad bits on there.

I have a 99 suzuki srad 750 that wont start once hot, ive changed batteries, stator, and starter, still wont start without a jump start

Did starter include a new solenoid? However, there has been a rash of bad "new" solenoids. Try to "jump" around the solenoid to see if it spins the starter motor. If it does, most likely a bad "new" solenoid.

I have a fully custom truck 80's style chev reg cab short box with a 454 in it, and i have full power to everything but it will not turn over. the solenoid makes one click. why wont it start?

Try smacking the starter with a rubber mallet, sometimes they brushes will stick if it doesn't get used a lot, other times the solenoid will stick (but still click). A good smack will loosen them up, usually anyway.
I just went through this on a '71 Chevelle that had a new starter on it, the solenoid had started to fail and every time my neighbor tried to start it the starter needed smacked. He eventually replaced the solenoid and didn't have any problems after that.

1994 Dodge Dakota Sport Standard Cab Pickup automatic, i have a new battery and when i turn the key everything turns on and you hear a part of the motor but it wont start, what should i look for?

Sometimes when fitting a new battery the terminals are not on really tight. First check that the contact face of the battery terminal cable clamps are bright metal. Clamp securely so that there is no movement between cable and terminal. Next check the condition of the earth return strap from the engine back to the vehicle's frame. Again ensure there is good fresh metal to metal contact and the it is secured firmly. Next check the connection on the starter motor...clean and secure again. If still no joy then it is time to check the starter motor. The most frequent fault in starter motors are worn striker contacts. When the solenoid is engaged is moves the starter motor armature forward to engage with the drive teeth on the edge of the fly wheel. At the point of engagement the electrical contacts of the motor coil core make contact with the copper striker plates. When they become worn then contact is lost. Make a note of the make and model of the starter motor and purchase a striker plate refurb. fit (about $10 from dealer or Autozone etc). disconnect the electrical cables to the solenoid and motor, remove the two securing bolts that hold the motor to the flywheel casing and remove the motor assembly. Undo the motor end retaining bolts and examine the striker plates. Change them one at a time, I say this as it is important that the order of insulation washers and nuts are in the correct order when reassembled - using the un-touched plate as a reference helps in this. Clean, but do not lubricate the interior of the motor - oil only serves to attract grime. Reassemble and reinstall the the motor assembly. Again ensure the electrical supply cables are clean and attached firmly.

2000 reg clio 1.2 and SOMETIMES it will not start.

Hi, if when you turn the key to start the car the engine dont turn over as if its trying to start then this indicates that you have a problem with your starter motor it is the selanoid on the starter starting to fail

Sometimes it will turn the engine over starting the car and other times it will do nothing and you might here a slight clocking noise coming from the starter motor.

If your battery is ok and holds the charge ie the lights are bright without the car running then this indicates that your battery is ok and that the starter needs replacing. Sometimes you can get away with giving the starter motor a few taps with a hammer this sometimes clears any muck inside the starter selonoid getting it working for a bit longer but eventually it wont work at all so its best ot get this done sooner rather that later.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
