I have a 1994 2.2 manual chevy calvalier I was driving and I heard a pop then I lost speed as soon as I put my foot on the brake it was like they all locked up and the car hopped to a stop. After that I was having trouble moving the shifter from one gear to another I was still able to go in reverse I put in manual transmission fliud and that seemed to fix the problem temperary then the car would not move gears and came to a skidding stop and now it is stuck in first gear

Look at the constant velocity joints on that side. When the rubber boot tears it lets road dirt in which fouls the grease and allows premature wear on the cv joint components.
This is an easy solution with potentially hours of looking. You have a short in a wire somewhere along the line. It could be from brake light to brake light or the wiring to the fuse panel itself. Another place to check is at the socket itself. Grab a meter and start eliminating.
I'd hazard a guess that the torque converter disengages from "lock up" when you lift your foot. This would let the engine instantly idle down, and would produce no braking effect from a closed throttle.
Try driving it (at a lower speed) in direct, rather than overdrive, and see if the same thing occurs, or if you get the expected braking effect when you lift your foot off the throttle.
I'd say you broke a serpintine belt if you lost them both at the same time. Check your belts and see if you're missing one... You should have breaks and steering, just manual... hard to steer and brake...
when you press the brake pedal the brake master cylinder vacuum booster takes vacuum away from the engine and that slows the idle speed just enough to trigger the low pressure oil light. Pull the oil pressure sending unit out and hook up an oil pressure test gage, if the pressure is above 15 PSI hot engine idle in drive replace the oil pressure sending unit.
