SOURCE: Car alarm stopped working.. Car wont start

the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.

SOURCE: lights, horn work but car wont start

Troubleshoot the starter. If your battery is good, then you WILL have power...the lights will work, horn, etc, but....if the starter is toast...you need a starter.

SOURCE: pt cruiser turn key wont start nothing horn lights

I had the same problem.does your key spring back? If it doesn't take out your tumbler remove your starter ignition switch, held on by one srew, remove top and bottom plasticcouple screws, two screws on top to remove blinker switchs and lights.under tumbler casing two small screws hold shift cble remove that and in between starter switch and tumbler the rest off your ignition. remove this at the more than likely at the end the soft metal has broken so instead off it having a square end it's rounded so it can't turn your ignition you will have to replsce that unit .goodluck It has been a real pain in the *** trying ti figure it out.

SOURCE: lights, turn signals, horn don't work

Look for a bad ground connection inside the headlight shell (or possibly elsewhere). The other thing that all of the items you mention that are working intermittently have in common is the ignition switch. With the switch 'on', check for battery voltage at the fuses for the headlight, turn signals, horn, etc. No voltage at the fuses likely means a bad ignition switch.

Try jumpering the terminals of the starter solenoid. If this spins the engine the starter solenoid is likely at fault. Before you go and replace it however, you might want to test the starter switch with a multimeter so you're sure it isn't a corroded switch.

Also if you manage to get the bike going, use a multimeter to check the voltage when the bike is running and when it is off. You should have at least 11.5 volts when off and 13.5 volts when running. The ideal is 12.5 and 14.4 volts respectively however.

Apparent electrical short or wiring trouble.

Check your fuses. Sounds like something in the horn circuit after the switch is shorted.

Hi, Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch. Also check alternator, so that battery is charging.
Do a test for me, start engine disconnect battery. If alternator is working you should have light and horn. Stop, engine reconnect battery. This will give you a better idea where the problem lies.
Good luck.

Got a 2000 hayabusa, instrument panel back brake light and turn signals out, replaced 15amp fuse, rode the bike next morning same again?

Well...in general....the turn signals brake lights and horn and instrument lights are typically on the Signal fuse on most bikes.
So....any recently added accessories to the circuit?
If not...start at the signal and brake light sockets...inspect wiring around the socket and the sockets themselves looking for a possible short.
Then check wiring to the back under seat for chafing pinching etc
Inspect the wiring aroiund the steering head in case a pinch has occured causing a short on bar rotation.
If all looks okay...inspect the horns....not sure on your Busa, but many horns use 2 wires and ground through the horn button....so the horn needs to be insulated on its mount so as it may be wired hot and can short.

The bike was running fine in the evening. Rode to work parked the bike took the key out. The battery was dead in the morning. Put the 10 amp charger on and the motor started to turn over with the key off!...

your starter button is malfunctioning. maybe some oxidation in the switch. when starter button is pressed in that can cause your other electrical stuff to not work.
