Put new alternator still not charging

make sure battery connetions are good and there is a fuseable link from red wire at alt follow wire back to battery youll find it broken

Sep 20, 2013 | Chevrolet Monte Carlo Cars & Trucks

Tip

Error 161, 163

Errors 161, 192, 163.
All three of these errors are connected to the back up
battery.
To resolve this problem:
1. open memory flap on base of laptop (small philips
screwdriver required)
2. find the small connector with 1 black & 1 red wire
coming from it.
3. disconnect above connector and gently pull the
Red&black wires. The backup battery should just pull out
from under the casing.
4. get replacement battery. Either
a. call IBM spares (07900 247 490 in UK) and ask for FRU:
02K6502. UK price is about £8 + £15 delivery + VAT.
b. if comfortable with soldering iron: Carefully open the
packaging on the backup battery using a sharp knife.
Remove the solder tags from the battery (these are spot
welded so need to be cut/broken off). Buy a new CR2025
battery from any computer shop, jeweler, or camera shop.
Using electrical tape, insulate all round edge of battery
(see the one just removed). Solder the leads onto the new
battery - note polarity. Red wire to +, black wire to -.
Using more insulating tape, wrap battery so that all
exposed metal is covered.
5. put new battery into laptop (reverse steps 1-3)
6. start up computer, error 192 has gone, but still shows
161, 163. Select OK.
7. reset date & time, and OK
8. when screen shows 'O / I' restart laptop using on/off
switch at side.

I took the alternator off and found the red wire (hot wire) frm the alter. was broken off the other end... my quest. is where does the other end connect to. (is it connected to the starter?)when the guy...

Diodes do not reset them selfs, they blow,or connect a circuit both ways, instead of one way,if the alternator is bad replace it,then if it is the large wire on the alternator,it goes to a direct battery positive, hot all the time, like the battery,or the large cable going from the battery to the starter.

How do you replace a starter cellnoid in a 2000 Ford Contur

follow the positive cable to the solenoid. disconnect the wires from all the posts but make sure you know which ones go where. the solenoid should only be 2 bolts to take it off.

ALL Voltages (three wires) iones battery of Ton Tom one

Not sure why you would need to know this , red is live black is return circuit and the yellow is auxilliary and usually goes to charge input. as a live wire It is easier to cut and graft a new battery to the stubbs of wire than to solder new battery on. What you might really be needing is the polarity.. whether any charge pin is positive or negative if you are making a new internal charge point. Consult the back of the charger it usually states the polarity in a graphic.

It was working one day and then the next nothing came up on the viewfinder, so I put in a new battery and it still didn't work. Any ideas?

The problem is a broken 9 volt battery cable.....The red or black cable has broken underneath the battery cover. You can try to re-solder it....make sure it is clean first.....clean it with acetone or high grade alcohol...>91% or higher< if you can get soldering rosin put that on after cleaning then, re-attach broken wire(under black 9 volt cover)

good luck

Changing the output Jack on 1985 Peavey Dyna Bass

If this has active circuitry, one of the wires is the cutoff for the power supply from the battery. The other two are black for ground and either white or red for signal.
