Hello, my 2004 Honda VTX 1800 after heats up on low speed the engine shuts down. What it could be?

Hi, Martynas and the usual suspects are:
1. Engine oil level and SAE weight are too low or not circulating.
2. Insufficient or blocked air flow over the engine.
3. Heavy combustion chamber carbon deposits.
4. Ignition timing retarded due to faulty MAP, CKP, or CMP sensor.
5. Carburetor jetted too lean.
6. Leaking intake or exhaust valve.
7. Water coolant old or low change every two years.
8. Water pump failure.
9. Radiator clogged, cap loose or malfunctioning.
10. Radiator fans not coming on.
11. Clutch slipping, brakes dragging, heavy load, towing a trailer etc.
12. Idling too long without moving.
13. For constant hot weather temperatures, mountain, or desert riding conditions consider adding an oil cooler and or cylinder head cooler.

What type of collant can I use in my 2004 Honda VTX 1300?

Any brand name motorcycle antifreeze should work for you. If genuine Honda coolant is not available to you, you can use GM Dexcool or any NON SILICA style automotive anti freeze. The silica (scrubbing) particles in regular automotive anti freeze will damage the water pump seal ceramic washer causing your pump to start leaking. 50/50 mix should work fine. If you have to dilute the antifreeze to achieve a 50/50 mix, use only distilled water to limit corrosion or crust build up in your radiator.

How do you check the coolent on the vtx 1300?

It is rather easy to check coolant on the vtx all models 1-level the bike [block under kick stand wheel also blocked] 2-look under bike at the overflow bottle midwaynear the oil filter.3-there are marks on the bottle clearly showing high ,low, and middle.what you want is the middle line or level when the engine is cold.4-afiller tube is provided on the left side under the plastic side not overfill or you will have to do some siphoning to bring level back down. If you wish to check the coolant mix 50/50 then an antifreeze guage will have to be used
