Samsung WA456 Washer. Error code dc. Won't spin on any setting. Keeps stopping and flashing dc. Any ideas???

If your Samsung top loader is starting to spin, but stops after a minute or two, and starts to fill up with water again... and then after 3 times of doing this, it errors out with a DC error code, the problem could very well be with the support rods. The springs in these rods will get weak over time and allow the drum to become unbalanced during the spin cycle. Fortunately, the 4 support rods are very easy to take out and replace. And sometimes, they just need to be greased properly. I had a service technician replace my support rods, but he didn't grease the top and bottom bushings first, so my machine still wouldn't spin properly. After he left, I pull one of the support rods out, cleaned out the dried up grease where the support rods lock in, and applied a liberal amount of white lithium grease to the top and bottom bushings on the support rod. I then put it back in. I did the same for the 3 remaining support rods. Now the support rods were able to move very freely in their holders, which is necessary during the spin cycle. My machine now spins like it is supposed to and I don't get the re-fills and DC error code anymore. It is not hard to do, but can be a bit messy. Have gloves and/or cleaning rags handy. And if you do need new support rods, this place has them cheaper than you can get them from Samsung!!!!

Is it set up level on its feet? Can you slide a piece of rubber under each foot?

A "dc" error occurs when a Samsung washer is unable to spin due to an unbalanced load. Redistributing the items inside the washer and pressing the "Start/Pause" button typically clears this error

The DC error code is an unbalanced laundry error. Try putting less clothes in and if that doesn't fix the problem, then replace the hall sensor( located behind the drum, underneath the rotor).

You can check out the TDS but I would go right to the Clutch repair post if the machine shuts down in with a error code dC or uC.

That means the TDS is producing analog voltage swings +3.5VDC to 0VDC to the input of the Control Board Conn_P3 pins 10 and 11. Those DC voltage swings are at the design limit of max Wash Tub movement and the Control Board shuts the Spin Cycle down……..so thebTDS is working as designed.

The machine will make several attempts to redistribute the load before error code generation failing with dC or uC error codes.

DC is an unbalance error. You need to open up the back and take off the top and check the shocks and springs. That would be the first thing to do.

"dc" means that the control board is trying to ramp up (that is, send a signal to the motor controller), but has encountered an unbalanced load and so shuts down. Specifically, "dc" means "distribute clothes".

I took this opportunity to upload a Tech and Troubleshooting manual for you. Here is the link for it. Read it carefully. You will be required to perform a "board output" test after placing the machine in "Service Mode".

I gotta tell ya, though. Based on my history with these, I highly suspect that the machine control board has failed. Let me know what you find, OK?
