1992 750 Katana. Turns over, but why doesn't it start?

Hi, Jordan and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP, CKP, O2 and/or BAS).
11. Security alarm needs a reset.

Bike back fires

its sounds like your carby needs a tune..... it really isnt hard to do yourself if you know hot to adjust the jets but really should go to a shop.......wont cost much at all just rid in wait 5 mins and ride away but if i were you i would put it in for a major service if you have the money to coz the mechanics will find any little problems before they turn into big ones

Fuel lines not connected right

Best I can offer are the following web sites.
.
Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx
.
Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.
http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most of the manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language. There are several GSX750F manuals on the site. Find the one closest to 1996 and go by that. 95% likelihood there are no changes if 1 or 2 years off. The trim and electrics change more than the mechanics of the bikes.

Ive just bought a suzuki gsx750f 1989 model it was running fine the first day and now wont start and backfires when im trying to start it can anyone help me?

Backfiring is typical for 'lean' conditions and stuck inlet valves.
check also the spark plug condition, replace them if any doubt on their age exists.
Check compression to discover open valves.
Clean out the carburettors.
