Question about 1985 Honda XR 600 R
On left side looking forward near cyliner is the filler plag
there is a drain plug under the motor it will be the biggest bolt you see
you cant compromise on oil quality just use high viscosity & dont mix brands! stick with just one! the reason is the chemicl compounds sometimes are in conflict

Your trans fluid is the same as your engine oil. The transmission gears are inside of your main housing it is not a sperate compartment like on a car. When you change the oil in the motor you are changing you transmission fluid as well. Full synthetic oil is fine to run in these machines. Make sure you change your oil filter and check your oil screens for any built up debris.
