Good idea put it on a trickle charge, however, the battery had enough charge init to start the bike initially, and the bike should have charged the battery after 10-20 miles, worth checking the charge rate to the battery from the rectifier,

I believe i have a weak battery on my car when i tried starting the car after it had sat a month it was dead. I boosted it and it started and run fine. I bought a trickle charger and put it on the battery....

1. You possibly have a dead cell in the battery or a loose ground.
2. check your battery also for corrosion are the post.
3. Take you battery to a checker, Auto zone,or other auto parts place that can check the battery for you and tell whether the battery needs replacement.
4. if the battery is 4 yrs old or more it more than likely has lost it's ability to take a charge.
5. Also check the alternator> if the alternator has gone bad the battery will not be charged.
6. If a car has set for more than a week without starting or running it for 30 minute to an hour it will deteriorate.

Is it OK to charge a Kawasaki 250 Ninja battery with a regular battery charger at low level charge? I let the battery run down on the bike.. I am wondering of the hazards of charing my bike battery...

As long as they are both 12 volts the battery doesn't care. Put the charger on the lowest setting and remove the cell covers from the battery. Make sure acid is over the plates. If not add water. Just trickle charge or you will burn it up!

I have a 2003 dyna wide glide,,lately we charge the battery and can ride for bout an hour and half and then it won't start,,can you please tell me what the problem is ? Have to jump start it,,then put it...

I would first ck the charge rate at the battery. Between 13.6 - 14.2 is the happy zone. If above no good, if below, charging hard.. Ck the battery fluid level. If less than 1/4 you can go ahead and frown cause the battery is trash. Fill it up with distilled water and put it on a charger no larger tha a 1.5 amp chharger. Trickle charge for 24 hrs and if the battery is savable it will take the charge. Now the charging rate. The condition of the battery affects the charging. Supply and deman. Once the battery is charged up, take a reading with the bike running again. Bike needed to be running on fitst reading too, sorry. If it's in the happy zone you're set. If not , replace the battery if a load test at the parts store fails. I say battery first becausebecause it is cheaper than a stator and the battery on a bike is prone to failure because of vibration, and servicing inadequacies. No offence. Let me know how it all turns out. Good Luck, Ned-

Bike stalls out in neutral and wont start back up while riding

It sounds like the battery may be bad in spite of Auto-Zone's pronouncement. The connectors to the battery may be bad enough to make a poor connection to the battery posts. Is the battery water level up to the line in each cell?
Re-jet one step bigger as the baffle removal will make it run lean.

Battery/starter malfunction upon reinstallation of battery

are you absolutely certain that you have the battery back in the bike the right way,as what you have described is battery leads around the wrong way, because if you hook up the positive to the neg terminal and negative to thepositive terminal the bike will try to start(but backwards)as you have effectivly turned the whole electrical sytem inside out,i just hope that the cdi and coils havent been damaged..i certainly hope that, all you can do now is put the battery back on the charger and let it trickle charge, track the leads and be certain which is which before putting them back on (positive is red, negative is black)and the battery should be clearly marked, not only on the front but beside each terminal, hope this helps

2006 Yamaha YZF-R6 will not start

try cleaning the battery terminals, check the battery voltage when you hit the starter, If you run it too long and it isnt charging a good battery you can damage the regulator again, same if you jump it off a car battery, it can cause damage

A battery with a dead cell will not charge. Remove battery, take to Auto Zone get it checked. If battery is dead, replace with the best and biggest CCA available. Only cost $1.00 to go first class.

Battery - alternator

The best thing to do is first check all the fuses, I think there is second fuse box under the hood, look in the owners manual, also check for any shorted wiring where the radio was. If all this appears ok go to Kragen auto, Auto Zone etc and they will test the alt for free, please note that some Japanese charging systems require a good battery to work, so pulling the battery cable off may not be a valid test on this import.
