SOURCE: i have a 2001 yamaha wr250f and after running only

Air leak causing a lean fuel/air mixture, bad radiator cap killing pressure in the cooling system, low water in the radiator, plugged radiator, broken water pump, not using premium gas and a spark plug with the wrong heat range.

SOURCE: yamaha blaster runs but wont rev

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb.
Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

Check fuel pump. You might have a bad diaphragm.

SOURCE: Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

SOURCE: My Yamaha Virago runs great till the battery dies.

Sounds like you need to monitor what's going on at the battery. Hook up a volt meter to see if it's charging. Check and clean all connections / plugs. Check connections at key switch. Look over all wiring for shorts or broken wire. Disconnect everything but motor wiring to narrow down the problem. Starter drains battery faster than it can recharge.........
A dead battery will mess up a charging system and a bad charging system will kill a battery.

Yamaha blaster 2001

No fuel or no spark. Quick test: spray some starter fluid into air intake and try to start it. If it runs and then dies, you've got spark but no fuel. If the bike quit with no prior symptoms, check spark plug wire not knocked loose, fuel filter clogged. (You do have gas, right?)

Have a 06 Yamaha 1100 V-star classic, sat for a while before I bought it, front pipe is starting to blue and the idle increases after ya ride it for a couple miles. bike only has 3300 miles on it. could it...

Hi,

Pipe bluing indicates that cylinder is running lean, therefore too hot. Have you looked at the front spark plug? The insulator should be paper bag tan. Ash white and it's running lean.

The idle going high can be a vacuum leak. You can spray WD-40 (or propane) around the intake flanges when it's running, and if the engine changes speed, you've found the leak.

I bought my first bike used & it rode fine! Its dying

Possibly if too full oil is getting to combustion chamber? Have you pulled a spark plug to see what they look like? You should check owners manual for correct procedure on addin/changing oil. I always recommend the shop manual for usually under $15 at auto/cycle parts stores.

Engine dies after quad is warmed up (10-15 minutes)

Just a hunch, had this happen to a bike of mine years ago, could be the piston rings are gettting ready to go(wore down). What happens is when the quad is cold the rings expand tight into the cylinder walls allowing it to get full compression and run ok. When it heats up they shrink allowing the slightest amount of give which in turn will cause you problems similar to what your describing.

Yamaha XV17 Runs For A Minute - Then Dies

The dealer is not interested.
The bike is set up very lean to meet emissions standards. Any of them will benefit from larger jets. It's probably running too lean.

2006 Arctic Cat ATV dies after about 15 minutes of riding

Sounds as if the gas tank is not breathing properly. The next time you run it, when it's about to die, loosen the gas cap. It should begin to run again. This is a sure sign that your gas cap is clogged. Clear gas cap of debris, or buy a new one.
