You didn't mention what sort of car you have.
You can try disconnecting the electrical lead on the MAP sensor. Then give the car a test drive.

A faulty MAP can cause high emissions, erratic running and high fuel consumption.

You can also try cleaning the EGR - the exhaust gas recycler valve.

It's strange that you have no fault codes. There is no check engine light illuminated?

There's no need to go to a Toyota dealership. A mobile mechanic should be able to identify the problem - and they come a lot cheaper than a dealership

Try unplugging the electrical connector from air flow sensor meter and cleaning things up. If you don't know what an air flow sensor looks like do a Google search for 'Toyota Yaris Air flow sensor' or copy and paste this link into your browswer:https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=toyota...

tried the mapsensor running car without it connected also cleaned egr valvle and still no change no fault codes given could the turbo be faulty and cause the car to lose power at 3000rpm?

A turbo could cause problems, yes, but if that was the case I would imagine you would find other running problems too. I still think it's something to do with the fuel/air system.

You say the car has high emissions .. can you get the catalytic converter checked properly? The quick check you can do yourself is to smell it - any burning smell or a smell of what has been likened to 'tom cat p*ss' is indicative of a blocked/failed cat.

The only other thing that crosses my mind is a blocked fuel filter or failing fuel pump, though the symptoms you describe don't fully match a blocked filter/faulty fuel pump.

Is there anybody you know who can give you a second opinion on the 'cat'?

Nothing, you have hit the rev limiter. The up and down is the computer controlling the rpm. If you drive it, it should rev past 3,000. The computer is designed to keep free wheeling rpm to that level. It will only allow a higher rpm if vehicle is in gear and moving with a load.

P1613 fault code & engine will not rev over 3000 rpm when you get to 3000rpm it then fluctutated between 2500 rpm & 3000 rpm causing the car to buckaroo

Crank sensor or engine speed sensor is faulty.

Fault:
Irregular power loss on accelerating
The speed of the engine is limited till 2500rpm
Frequent loss of crankshaft position sensor signal

Cause:
It is caused due to leaking from thermostat housing into crankshaft position sensor harness multi-plug

Remedy:
Check and clean the crankshaft position sensor harness multi-plug contacts. Rectify the engine coolant leak from the thermostat housing if found. Take a note of the engine coolant level and monitor it for changes, showing a leak is indeed occurring.
