I had this problem with my 2000 TT600. The button on my clutch switch (at the inside end of the clutch handle) doesn't pop out all the way sometimes. It took me about 2 months to figure this out. But that would be my first check point.

Firstly has the bike been dropped? if so then oil may have ended up in the cylinders, this will " hydro lock" the cylinders and not allow the cylinders to compress. the way to solve this is by removing the fuel tank, air box thus giving access to the plugs remove aall four coils and plugs, remove the left hand fairing to gain access to the generator cover this needs to be removed to allow you to turn the engine over via the 8mm allen head in the centre. turn over the engine a few times and the oil will blow out from the plug holes, clean up any oil and refit the plugs, coils, airbox and fuel tank, run the bike up, the bike will smoke but this is because it is still burning off the oil from inside the cylinders an through the exhaust. once you are happy that the bike runs replace the fairing.

First thing to do is clean the battery termnials check the fluid level of the battery if it is full charge the battery and then try again if it starts then your battery is low, take the battey to a shop and have it load tested to see if it's any good. If the battery is more than 3 years old then it has worn out. If you buy aa new battery buy one that is a dry cell. it is more money but lasts longer and if hit it won't leak out acid and you never have to put water in them. If that does not fix them problem post here for more help.

Will not start starter makes click-click-click noises, battery fine, starter fine , starter relay fine, battery connections and starter connections are clean and still keep doing click-click-click noises...

We'd need to know more about how you have assessed these components, but something in that chain is still faulty. The symptoms you describe are classic, the sound of the starter solenoid pulling in, and arise almost always from

- a dying battery which cannot hold a full charge, but which can still pull in the starter solenoid, run the radio etc, but not crank the motor
- worn starter solenoid main contacts which cannot close the supply circuit from battery to starter motor
- a dead segment in the starter motor armature which is preventing it from rotating
- a bad ground, usually between motor body and chassis

You have mentioned all these things I know, but that click-click is a first step which still points the same way..

One way to narrow it is to try jump starting your motor from a known good battery or another car with running motor, taking precautions to avoid frying your electronics. If it starts, it is a bad battery you have. If it just clicks, then one of the other causes.

Car working fine, suddenly wont start

Be sure it is in fact the right gas cap. Often when you purchase from someone like bumper to bumper etc the parts people get the wrong info. I suggest you go direct to the dealership pickup a cap and see if that solves the problem.

make sure your getting power to wire on starter as you turn the key to start position if not ignition switch could be faulty if you are getting power to starter coud be your starting motor

My car wont start battery is not dead, but wont turn over?

if the battery is fine check if you hear a clicking noise coming from the starter motor when you turn the key to try and start the engine.
If you hear this noise then this is a good indication that the selenoid has failed meaning you need to replace the starter motor.

You can give the starter motor a hit with a piece of wood as some times this will get the starter motor working just to start the car but this isnt a permanent fix and could leave you stuck if you used the car.

Now if the starter motor isnt clicking but you hear a clicking noise coming from either the cars fuse box or the ecu when you turn the key to start the car then this would indicate a problem with the imobiliser this would need testing using a diagnostic machine as their is no other way of testing this to find out if its at fault.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Volvo 2.0 S40cd 1996 . Battery not flat but won't start , ignition lights flashing , engine won't turn over . Lights ok and central locking ok . tried to jump start from another vehicle but no effect .

hi, the problem you are having sounds like the starter motor has packed up if when you turn the key you get nothing or you might even hear a faint click, if you open the bonnet then get someone to turn the key you might hear a faint click coming from the starter motor. This click indicates the starter motor needs replacing.

you could try hitting the starter motor with a hammer give it a few good hard hits this might get the starter motor working for a while if not then it needs replacing at once if it works then this isnt a permanent fix so be warned.

( located at the front of my bike, behind the radiator ) and the starter motor wont spin or even try to crank the engine. i have also tried 2 bump / jump start the bike but still no start :( i think the battery is fine though as the lights work when ignition is on. can any1 help me with this problem? any suggestions and help appreciated thanks :)

Car won't start, battery fine, just hear clicks

Even though the lights work, the battery may still be just short on power to turn the motor over thus the clicking. Try charging the battery or jumping, if you still get a clicking it would be the starter solenoid. Considering the year you may just want to replace the whole starter.

2000 olds intrigue will not crank

you have 3 choices.
1) Bad battery
2)Starter motor solenoid is inoperative or starter motor itself is inoperative
3) your engine is locked up
How old is your battery and are the connections to the starter motor good?
Do you hear a clicking noise when you try to start the engine?
Do you have a clunk noise when you try to start it?

If dirty connections then clean the terminals andtry to start engine.
Clicking noise means starter solenoid is picking up but starter motor is disunctional and needs replacement.
If the noise is a clunk then your engine is locked up for whatever reason.
Last but not least if you hear the starter motor runningand a metalic grinding then the star is bad on the starter motor which means replacement of same.
