If it won't hold a charge, Probably a dead cell in the battery.

SOURCE: Battery charger on 2008 Chevrolet Equinox

Hiya...if your battery need attention to charge it up, I suggest a very good, modern battery charger from well-known stores such as Sears, Canadian Tire or what's available in your town.
The newer battery chargers offer smart-charging technology to provide correct polarization and 12 volts/amperage for 'instant boost' power/quick charge/overnight/slow-charge functions that you select it and the beauty of it is the 'smart' charger slow down the charge voltage to a trickle to prevent 'cooking' of the battery cells (so the battery case don't expand and crack/leak acid)

Tip: if your battery received a 'instant boost' prior to driving off, try driving around for at least 15 minutes to allow the alternator to pump full charge to the battery so it should store enough 12v power in it for your next start-up.

SOURCE: Have 97 acura won't stay charge changed battery

the battery wont stay charged? if youre putting in a fully charged battery and your car runs, but then the battery slowly dies, the problem will be your alternator. the alternator is what maintains a car batteries charge. try replacing the alternator. hope this helps.

SOURCE: Battery won't stay charged, it is brand new battery, alternator has been checked and it is good, blown BTN 60 watt fuse, on 1994 Mazda Protege.

The 60amp fuse probably is in the circuit between the alternator and the battery. Which would be why the battery is not getting charged.
Someone would need to check for a short in the wiring between the alternator and the battery.

Ranger won,t start with charger after headlights on all night. what is the problem?

Maybe the deep discharge on battery trashed it and now it will not take a charge. Sure the charger is working? Give it enough time to charge the battery - at least five hours.

My headlights will not stay on dim it will come on then a few seconds it goes off at nights especially and I have to run lights on bright

You don't say what kind of car. If the headlights are HID, it's possible the High Voltage circuit is having trouble getting enough source voltage to work. Is your battery holding a full charge? That would be a typical problem.

The battery won't stay charged

Hi it is possible that you Alternator is faulty,if you have access to a VoltMeter ,check the battery voltage in the morning before you try to start it you should have around 12.7 volts for a charged battery if not fully charge your battery again and check the voltage with your car running you should have around 14 volts with the engine reving at 1500 revs.ifyou get around 12 volts then your lights are taking more power from the battery than the Alternator can replace. You could also get your local garage to Drop Test your battery to see if any of the Cells are faulty

Truck will not keep and charge over night

The battery won't keep a charge or it won't when it is in the truck? Will the battery keep a charge if you put it on the charger and then unplug it overnight, all of this out of the truck. Then in the morning will it start the truck. If not your battery is bad. If it keeps a charge and will start the truck and then it goes dead after several hours, your truck is drawing a load on the battery. You will have to find what has been left on or shorted out.

My truck won't start. It won't turn over... only clicking noise.. even with a jump. the headlights work but very dimly.. orange lights next to headlights flash on and off dimly consistently as well...

When a battery is very low, even a jump won't work because the battery takes too much out of the jump. Take the battery out and have it charged up.
If it won't take a charge, get a new one.
But also make sure the battery terminals and cable ends are shiny and greased.

If you really want to be sure, put a voltmeter on it.
A good battery should be 12.5.
When you crank it should go down to about 10.
If it goes below 9, either the battery is too low, or the starter is draining too much.
If it never goes below 11, it is not draining enough, and the solenoid is probably bad.
If when you stop cranking, it comes back up to over 11, then the battery is good, so the starter is probably bad.

Battery wasnt holding a charge so i replaced the battery and the alternator and the battery still wont hold sa charge. if i turn on the headlights it drains quick.

well, it will with the headlights on..... do you mean it loses a charge if parked, or driving it, the battery goes dead? if parked over night and its dead, there is a draw somewhere, make sure theres no dome light or glove box light on, cell phone charger, ect. A shop will need to verify the battery and altenator are good before doing a "parasitic draw test".... the max it should draw is 250ma.
