Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide

Left side turn signals ( front & Back) won't work

I have a 2000 dyna glide conv. & the left side fron & back turn signal won't work they don't even come on. The bulbs are good, if I switch conections in the back plug the left into the right and right into the left the left one will come on when I hit the right turn, so the wiring from the back connection to the light is good. I've look for a short but nothing is obvious. Any ideas?

I have the dash out, now how do you get the bulb out?
Does it just pull out or turn or do you push the rubber holder back through the main holder?

SOURCE: How do I remove the battery fron a 2006 Dyna Super

Your battery is normally located under your RH cover. Remove cover and it should be easily identified as a black box with 2 cables attached to it. Normally you will find 2 bolt screws holding a (+) Positive (Red) and (--) Negative (Black) terminal cables. You can use a size 10 spanner, a No. 2 Phillips screw driver or a size 10 socket drive to unbolt them, start with the Black terminal cable then the Red one. Make sure that Red terminal doesnot touch anything, yet best practise is to wrap Red cable with cloth to avoid it contacting any surface. You'll see that the battery is held up by a bracket consist of 3 bolts screws, undo bolts, remove bracket after carefully removing any wires it holds, and just tilt the battery forward and out. There that's done. If helpful please return a comment.

Recently my signal lights quit working properly. when button pressed, emergency lights front and back would come on. no left/right signal or brake lights would come on. replaced the tsm. problems...

Hi Ruben, always check fuses and bulbs first, you could have a faulty turn signal module or a bad turn signal button/switch, remove it from the switch housing and check for continuity, check your wiring and connections from the turn signal switch to the turn signal module with a testlite. Make sure all wires are not worn or pinched and connector pins are not corroded, broken, or loose. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website below:

I have a 1999 Dyna wide glide & speedometer stopped working & turn signals stay on...how to fix this problem???

There is a "reed switch" in the speedometer that cancels the turn signals. If the speedometer is not working, then the reed switch is probably not working either. If you'll contact me directly at wd4ity@bellsouth.net , I'll send you a trouble shooting guide for the turn signals in jpg format. Don't forget to remind me of what you need.

Where is the turn signal flasher

Your '06 model bike is does not have the old style turn signal flasher unit in it. It has what is known as a turn signal canceling unit. It's a "black box" located somewhere on the bike. I'm not sure of the location on the Super Glide, maybe under the seat or the panel on the left side of the bike. It's a black box about a half inch thick, and inch wide, and about a 3 inches long with a plug on one end with a mounting screw in the middle. This controls the turn signals. If you have the wrong bulbs in the turn signal units, they won't blink or a bulb out on one side that side won't blink. If none blink. I'd trace the ground of the canceling unit to make sure it's got a good ground.

Good Luck
